EZi
Hi there all you Aussies. We are just about to enter into the world of WHMCS and were thinking that there would be a lot of Australian related issues. Perhaps it would be good for future users if we can establish a bit of a depository of these type of country specific niggly bits. I know there is a bit out there in the forums but it would be nice to have all issues under one roof where we can share and learn. Any interest out there in getting this started? Cheers, Rene
Iceman
Hi Rene, What issues specifically did you have in mind? Cheers, Paul
EZi
Hi Paul, Well there are a whole list of smaller issues and I thought we could make a comprehensive list for solutions. For example, the necessity to have your ABN on the invoice and rename the "Invoice" to "Tax Invoice" (pretty easy stuff), the necessity to capture the clients ABN which need to go on the invoice for sales over $1,000 - perhaps an ABN validation / lookup function. That is just some of the things related to the invoice... There are more client specific issues as well. I would like to seamlessly sysc data with an accounting packages such as Xero or get a smoother integration with TPP. That sort of stuff... slim
I cannot imagine why you would need to check an ABN in that way! That sort of functionlity simply adds complexity. Not only that, I dont believe there is an automated way to do this (other than trying to scrape the abr website or asic) - As far as im aware there is no API to check an ABN.
EZi
An ABN validation algorithm is available from the ATO website. If you not into validating forms than that was perhaps an example that was not that relevant although personally I think validating a 11 digit number is always a good idea to minimise reverse workflow and to satisfy potential taxation liabilities. In any case, not really want to focus on what we can't do but rather on what we can...
Damo
It's not a requirement to include the buyers ABN on sales over $1000. The tax invoice only needs to identify the buyer. Which means their trading/entity name is enough. slim
Yeah, I cannot imagine why you would want to goto that effort - Orders over 1000 have no extra requirement for ABN. WHMCS need to concentrate on core features, functions, integrations rather than worry about validating an ABN.
EZi
OK, let talk about some more issues that are not required and perhaps we come up with a blank list. Over & Out from me...
