Problem with templates_c directory - HELP

I'm trying to load whmcs using host gator quick install. I keep getting message that I have to create templates_c directory to continue. The directory is there and noone can figure out why it is not seen by the whmcs checker. Has anyone else had this problem? Any help would be appreciated as this is my first install.

Perhaps it's not where it's expected to be? WHMCS allows that folder (and the other writable ones) to be located above the document root, but it requires adding that into the config file to tell it where they are. By default, within the WHMCS main directory, but if moved, it needs to know where to.

Hello, I am having the same problem with the QuickInstall by HostGator.

The templates_c folder is located in the WHMCS folder (renamed client) but the install fails and give the error message that the file should be created.

I have gone through and given 777 permissions but no luck yet. Help!

You can't use 777 on HG. Use 755.

Also, try installing using the normal method, not QuickInstall.
