Can I use WHMCS for This Service?

mysmallbizu

Question

I need some with WHMCS being used on a business OTHER than hosting.

I'd like to use WHMCS for my Home Staging Business BUT I'm not sure how/if it can be used to handle the quotes/invoices/billing etc.

I need some help/feedback/suggestions on how to use WHMCS with the type of client setup the staging business uses.

Here's the scenario

Our Staging Customer is the Realtor - An individual who pays a 1 time Set Staging Fee to us. This staging fee is for their "listing" the home that they are selling for their client.

We also rent staging props ( art work, lights/tables/ dishes and other items to dress the property) on a monthly basis while the house is on the market. This monthly recurring rental is based on the quantity and type of props that each individual listing requires. We have hundreds of different props in different categories that the stylist pics from as they prepare to dress the house.

Here's the Snag.....

The realtor OR the home owner may pay for the staging prop rentals. This changes based on the agreement that the individual realtor and home owner have.

Does anyone have any suggestions or comments on how of if WHMCS could be used to handle the quotes and billing for this type of business?

Since the props are a monthly rental and there is a large inventory of items to choose from should these be setup as individual products and added to the quote?

Or addon items in categories added to the staging product?

How can the invoice be split between the home owner and the realtor if required? Or can it only be done with separate invoices?

Any suggestions are welcome..

Hi,

WHMCS can be used to bill for just about anything on a one-time or recurring basis and then configurable options could be used to allow the client to specify which they required and to be billed accordingly. Normally the person named on the invoice would be the person placing the order, however if it was necessary for someone else to pay the invoice they could be added as a contact and made the default billing contact: http://docs.whmcs.com/Client_Management#Setting_a_Billing_Contact
