Does anyone here use WHMCS for Webdesign services ?

Recommended Posts

To get this thread going id like to know who currently uses WHMCS not only to manage hosting and domains but also bill out for IT or Web related services ?

Please explain how you use it and what features you would most like to see implemented to make it more functional for your business.

We have been using WHMCS for about a year now and there is certainly somethings that i can think of that would make it more friendly to use for not only products but also service related work such as IT support or Web Services.

Somethings i can think off from the top of my head.

1. Allow a client to purchase pre paid hours, with rules that apply the more hours purchased the better discount you can give. When a customer needs service work done via eg time billing these hours amounts will be deducted. This would be good for IT or Web companies.

2. Set account days allowed for individual clients. Eg. 30 day account, 7 day account, 90 day account.

3. Allow better management of invoice splitting for projects eg. The total project may be worth $5000 with an initial deposit of %10 before work commences, once this payment has been made there are 2 more payments that are needed at different stages of the project when reached you submit the invoice until the final payment. The problem is that currently you cant split more than once hence an invoice can only be x% now and y% later. The other problem is that you need to physically set a date for both invoices before you actually do the job this is not accurate because project work sometimes does not go as planned or sometimes there are factors that are out of your control that will delay the project.

Id like to hear from others and possibly how you get around limitations.
