Allowed Departments for WHMCS - Support Department Restriction Module

Recommended Posts

No Half Pixels is proud to announce its newest addon: WHMCS Allowed Departments.

This module allows you to restrict access to certain ticket departments on your site, have department specific staff being bogged down with requests sent to the wrong department? This addon is here to help.

The WHMCS Allowed Departments module allows you to restrict access to certain support departments based on a clients products.

So Web Hosting customers could for example be the only ones allowed to submit tickets in the web hosting department, and vice versa for other department/products.

Departments can be left open to anyone, restricted by product, client group, or specific clients.

The addon is brand new TODAY and is a steal at only £4.00.

if you want to take a look visit the product page here with all the features and a nice screenshot.

Stay tuned for more addons, and more current addon updates.

Account isnt deleted, maybe you have the wrong password/email combination, ive sent you an email this morning.

I was logged in to the account - raised the ticket. Tried to login later and failed. Tried both email addresses I use. None recognised. (Login details saved in browser and in Roboform).

No email received from you.

Happy to report this issue has been resolved and an update fixing the issue was ready and waiting and had been pre-empted by Lee.

I'll leave him to post the details, but it was a logical issue re sub-domains in the scripting and I'm a happy camper.

thanks for updating the thread Si.

for everyone else this issue has been fully resolved and was effecting a small number of site that had the whmcs system in a sub folder from the top level domain.

v1.1 is not available for download and works perfectly.

you can purchase the decoded addon product which gives you access to unencoded versions of the module.

please be aware that any custom changes to the module mean that support for bugs, breaks etc cannot be covered under the free support terms and would be billed for.

this does not effect updates and bug fixes provided by myself.

Hi

Would you be willing to tweak this so that it could restrict support staff to certain clients or client groups?

There is nothing around that does this currently, and I'm sure demand would be high!

How it would work:

1) assign existing clients to a specific new client group - e.g. "Tom's Accounts" (as currently possible in WHMCS)

2) create new administrator e.g. Tom (as currently possible in WHMCS)

3) assign (restrict) administrator Tom to the specific client group "Tom's Accounts" (new)

Therefore, administrator (Tom) can only "see" his assigned client group.

Additional specific permissions for Tom would still be set as normal in the administrator permissions section (that way giving maximum control over what Tom can actually do).

This would mean Tom could not see any of the other clients, or receive tickets etc from other client groups.

What do you think?

Hello sol2010,

this isnt something "this" module would do as this is more of a client facing module, but i agree it is something which would be highly valuable to some hosts.

I will look into this and see if there is anything i can make.

thanks for the suggestion.

Is this module still functioning for latest version?

Say i have a group of people with service level agreements.

Can i give them a different user group so they will be able to send tockets to a high priority inbox?

Cheers,

Jeffrey

hello jeffrey,

yes how you set the restrictions is up to you, based on the above description it would work great.

And yes it does work with the latest release of whmcs.

Don't even think to buy any modules from this company all its products fill of bugs and no support ever i opened tickets from 20 Days without any reply

Hello mnshawe,

Im sorry you feel this way. Unfortunatley we cant see a ticket for you in our system as we dont know from your username what your account on our system is.

If you could let us know we will investigate what has happened with your ticket.

Please also bear in mind we have only just returned from the festive period so ticket responses will have been delayed, but to our knowledge no tickets have been left unanswered for 20 days.

The main idea of this module is so creative and applicable. In fact I need this specified module.

But I expect more explanation in product page.

And now the question:

Does this product support restriction of expired products?

I mean a user has product that expires in 3 days, and user is allowed to post tickets during this time.

But I want to user to restricted to post tickets after his/her product expires.

Please explain.

Regards

Ata
