rodrigomtl
Recently i have got order that seem normal. But then starting spam, then it cancelled (reversed) order through PayPal. Domains was buy through my enom account. What are my option if i am victim from this type of fraud? Can i do some action with PayPal? Or simply I lost money on that kind of order? Thank you.
DontForget
You should enable Maxmind to prevent fraud, after that check client email with the paypal email.
bear
You've probably lost that money, and own the registered domains, but contacting Enom might be worth a shot. Explain you're a victim and they might work with you this one time (but unlikely if it happens twice). There was a short period where registrars allowed domains to be returned within a short window after registering, but it was abused heavily by domain "tasters" and discontinued, as far as I'm aware. Lesson learned, fraud checking might help in the future, as mentioned.
ckh
If a compromised PayPal account was used, you are out of luck. However, if it wasn't, just tell paypal it was for digitial goods which were delivered at least for the domain names. In the US anyway, digital goods are nonrefundable according to PayPal. That isn't valid in some countries, but, you can give it a shot.
tripler
I believe ICANN still gives rars a 5 day grace but as Bear said im not sure if that changed due to abuse. I would just email enom regardless in hopes =) Also it does not hurt to dispute with PP, at least they may ban the account or something. We have never actually used the fraud checking and always done manual for new clients regarding domains. Are there ever any false positives on a service like that or other problems. Do you trust the checks enough to not babysit new accounts? I may consider such an option.
bear
Maxmind has been very good for us, very few false positives, though it will trigger on someone far from home ordering. We manually provision first time accounts anyway, one more step towards protecting yourself.
xboss
What is the most common fraud? Do these guys think they are going to get away with a free domain? I was thinking that most fraud is so they can get a quick host to host up some malware?

vincent_g
where is that image supposed to be as i cant find that image anywhere on my site. also all images on my site are displayed as should be. This is a problem with domain sales only. Enom will not refund a domain sale so don't bother contacting them. They used to do it but stopped a few years ago. The person doesn't care about the domain - they are just testing the card. They will try the card at small companies first and if it works the will go on a shopping spree. I normall get one a month and Max Mind is helpful but not 100%. Check the important info given and if in doubt Call the person. But be sure the phone number is the one that belongs to the card owner. I'm not sure if the new version of WHMCS auto registers the Domain or not on new orders. I have mine set to no default registrar so no matter what new orders will not register a domain. For hosting it's not a big problem as you can just delete the account and no money is lost. But this doesn't mean you can just accept any order as if the Card is stolen then at some point you will get a reversal from the Card company - Paypal does this too. When they reverse it a large Fee will be charged to your account. Vin
