Sitepearl
Edit the "header.tpl" file in the template's folder.
Damo
You should also change the permissions on announcements.php and affiliate.php because although they'll not appear in the menu it will still be possible to access them directly.

Damo
From a shell prompt or FTP program. Remove the world readable bit.
m8internet
You should also change the permissions on announcements.php and affiliate.php because although they'll not appear in the menu it will still be possible to access them directly. I tend to simply rename such files, example : announcementsOFFLINE.php (or other TEXT that you see fit to make it obvious when viewing the directory) That way if someone tries to use a disabled link they do not find it When enabling again, simply remove the OFFLINE from the filename
