sounds
Hi, I am saying this because i would like to avoid the whole integration or joomla or wordpress. It would be nice if we could find all the addons etc that are available for joomla or wordpress. Then we wouldn't need to have them installed. Saying that, i haven't used whmcs yet.

WHY. not everyone that uses WHMCS uses joomla /wordpress
sounds
I have tested the trial and read much about it. Maybe it is better to keep them separated, but if they are both secured good then I could build a nice community around whmcs.
BryanB
I'd rather it not. I really cant see WHMCS catching up to WordPress to the point where I'll choose whmcs over wordpress. WP is just a completely different beast with a much larger and more experienced team behind it. It's not worth trying to reinvent the wheel.
easyhosting
also WHMCS and WP are 2 different platforms
Sitepearl
My $0.02: WHMCS is a billing / support application. Not a content management system. However, WHMCS has excellent addon support and expandability, so you can easily add your own custom pages or create a CMS addon yourself if you like. I don't believe in 'bridges' because you're essentially building your business process around your platform, and not your platform around your business process, which can cause severe problems down the road >if< you manage to get big enough. If you have the mindset as to where you will not use an application because it does not do everything out of the box you you and are too lazy to customize it to fit your needs, then you have no share in this industry. I mean that both figuratively and literally.
ExsysHost
just my two cents but you could do login share... like the others said they are two completely different products and have nothing in common. Also if you are finding and installing mods out there you are definitely breaking away from the secure factor.... I would only recommend ever running your billing system in its own virtual machine and never with a CMS such as joomla or WP with a bunch of third party mods. Billing systems need to be secure, the more mods you add the more likely you will get hacked... One of the methods we use to make billing systems and CMS appear to be on the same domain, is through the use of a reverse proxy, this way the CMS and billing system are on different servers or virtual machines but appear to be on the same. If that is over your head than I recommend html + billing not CMS + billing.
ExsysHost
to add you could also put your cms on the main domain then create a subdomain on a different server like secure.domain.com and it would achieve the same security level as a reverse proxy.
sounds
It's a lot to think about, on one hand i would like to work with whmcs by itself, But i'm wondering now should i have whmcs on a different server to the server the accounts are setup on. I saw that whmcs cms the other day, only 20$ too, i'm not sure how secure i can get wordpress or joomla. But if i was using wp or joomla, maybe i would avoid having a login to them and only a login to whmcs. Really i would only be using wp or joomla as a design around whmcs, not sure yet what to do. But i might just go with whmcs and add a few basic html or other codes in the pages for sliders and other addons, that would be safer. Do you still get the free domain setup with enom on the monthly subscription for whmcs? Thanks for the feedback though appreciate it. ExsysHost
Oh god yes never host your billing / support system on the same server as the customers... not only for security sake but the fact if your customers sites are down then so is yours... and that would really piss them off if they couldnt get ahold of you during an outage
