Shoutcast accounts including a domain or sub domain

sounds

Question

Hi,

I have a few questions about the system and domains, sub domains.

I know you can turn off the register a domain feature but maybe some people would want a domain for their radio.

Firstly, i would probably use the system for shoutcast accounts,

I know whmcs will auto create shoutcast accounts, with ip as the stream url etc.

But what if we enabled the domain feature, assuming we use the included enom setup.

Would the domain be auto created instantly and auto added to the shoutcast account?

So the user could use their domain name as the stream url etc?

I'm unsure how that would work, so if a new client rented a shoutcast stream

what happens if the domain feature is enabled?

*Would they get the optino to registed a domain with their new shoutcast account,

*Would they have the option to decline registering a domain name if they didn't need one.

*Would they also have an option to pick a sub domain, based on the domain of my server?

If i'm building a web site i would like to explain these issues to any interested customers.

Hi,

It depends upon which Shoutcast control panel you're using an whether it requires a domain name to create account. If yes then WHMCS will use the domain the client specifies on the order form, if not the domain won't be used. However you can still use WHMCS to register a domain for the client if they wish to use to for other purposes, such as their website etc.
