Domain Name Already Owned

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Came across a weird one - running the latest version 4.5.2. A customer of mine recently attempted to transfer a domain name (from one client) over to another client... by using the bulk domain transfer form on the website.

What we noticed:

FORM 1 - SINGLE DOMAIN TRANSFER: yourdomain.com/whmcs/cart.php?a=add&domain=register

When using the following form to transfer a domain name that is already in the system shows:

"The domain you entered is already registered with us - you will need to cancel it prior to placing a new order"

FORM 2 - BULK DOMAIN TRANSFER: yourdomain.com/whmcs/domainchecker.php?search=bulktransfer

Using this form to also transfer a domain name that is in the system allows the domain name to transferred...

It's not a "bug" it's just a badly worded $lang string

change it to

The domain you entered is already registered with us, so an inter-registrar transfer is not possible.

The existing owner may contact us to request "push" to your account

DO NOT CONTACT SUPPORT ABOUT THIS ISSUE AS WE WILL NOT HELP YOU

othellotech,

Unsure as to what your talking about but you might want to re-read the first post. It is a bug, it has nothing to do with the language file.

Domain names that are currently in the system CANNOT be transferred using the cart.php?a=add&domain=transfer link (this is how WHMCS is meant to function).

When using the bulk domain transfer link: domainchecker.php?search=bulktransfer

The above link alllows you to transfer the domain (even though its already in the system)

Can this please be confirmed by someone from WHMCS?
