easyhosting
dont forget these maybe free from the OP, but you will still need to get a licence from themeforest to be able to use these on your site due to copyright laws.
Alistair
Is that right?
easyhosting
themeforest licensing: "The Regular License grants you, the Purchaser a non-exclusive, non-transferrable right to make use of the work that you acquire (Work). " which means that you can purchase and do work as you have dome to make these themes, but under the themeforest licence you are not allowed to sell these on. if anyone purchases your work then they must also purchase a licence from themeforest to allow them to use the work on their sites. easyhosting
speak to themeforest about what you are doing and see what they say http://wiki.envato.com/support/legal-terms/licensing-terms/ Regular License The Regular License grants you, the Purchaser a non-exclusive, non-transferrable right to make use of the work that you acquire (Work). (d) Unless you have our prior written consent, you must not directly or indirectly license, sub-license, sell or resell or provide for free the Work or offer to do any of these things. All of these things are referred to as Resale. (f) You may use the Work in a work which you are creating for your own purposes or for your client who has asked you to create it. (g) You must not incorporate the Work in a work which is created for Resale by you or your client. as you have already designed these and are selling these then this is a breach of their licence Terms
WebsiteIntegrations
easyhosting, i think Alistair made that comment because these are not themeforest templates. Well the IT World one isn't anyhow. However, if you check the terms of the site that made that free template: ----- Proprietary Rights of Templates.com User is authorized to print copies of the Content, provided that the copies are only for personal, non-commercial use and that any notices contained in the Content are maintained. User may not modify, transmit, participate in the sale or transfer of or create derivative works based on any Content, in whole or in part. User agrees to comply with all copyright and trademark laws and shall not encumber any interest in, or assert any rights to the Content. --- So i get what you are saying - just point out the proper terms he is violating (in bold)
zomex
I actually took the time to contact Theme Forest to hear from them and they do require that the templates are purchased from them first. However, providing you do this they do allow you to sell WHMCS versions of the template. Looking at your website you don't make it clear that the visitor must first purchase the template from Theme Forest.
