Redactuk
How do you guys manage domains your hosting company uses or have parked? Do you have them recorded in WHMCS or do you just manage them direct with registrar? We have always had a client setup in WHMCS for ourselves and had the very few domains we use setup there, but while this has the beneift of managing renewal dates in WHMCS it's also very annoying that invoices are always generated for zero value Tobe be honest I wish there was a way within WHMCS to just manage our domains, where they are renewed automatically BUT completly excluded from the order/invoice process. Any advice? Dam... wrong forum.. mods can you move please?
Grizzlyware Josh
That sounds like a lot of work for WHMCS Devs, just use the registrar auto-renewal option... easy!
Redactuk
I wasn't requesting they add something (although would be nice) just wanting some feedback from other hosting providers whether, due to lack of option, everyone just handles their own domains outside of WHMCS, leaving WHMCS just for clients.
scurrell
All our domains are just managed at Enom, with auto-renew enabled. No need or desire to put them in WHMCS.
m8internet
I also control my Domain Names externally The billing and invoice cycles are controlled within WHMCS Once a customer makes payment then it shows as pending and an item to do once I have completed the Domain Name externally I then process the item to do as completed
othellotech
How do you guys manage domains your hosting company uses or have parked? Do you have them recorded in WHMCS or do you just manage them direct with registrar? In our case we are the registrar But yes, we have them recorded in our WHMCS, with the correct prices, and simply have a large credit balance which is recorded in our accounts as part of our expenses - helps work out the actual cost to run the business
wired.pl
othellotech: so the invoice is being created for othellotech by othellotech?
othellotech
Yes, and auto-paid by the credit we applied, which shows as our domain expense in the accounts
wired.pl
othellotech: one more question, what do you do with the invoice? Under "Invoiced To" and "Pay To" you have Othello Technology Systems I wish that WHMCS don't have "Don't create an invoice" option
