kirkoy
Hello, I would like to ask which best cms platform today. I would like to set up for a small website for my moms small business. thanks
jeremyhaber
I recently discovered concrete5. I think it is absolutely the easiest CMS system to design for and use. It's a visual CMS editor (aka you essentially do live edits on your site) which is very handy, especially for clients.
deathrequest
I would vote in for WordPress, if you are talking about the best CMS.. The reason being the ease with which plugins/themes can be added to/developer for WordPress. Plus, the vast community of developers around it.. You will get eventually some plugin for what you might want WP to do..

kongolo
Definitely Wordpress! You get a smooth integration with WHMCS as well, see http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/whmcs-bridge/
rockface
old thread but i can't resist. I've used both and have developed code for both, and have found Concrete5 is MUCH more logical and easier to use! It's developer framework gives you everything you could want and is easy to access, it's CMS (end user side) is much better designed, and easier to use or teach. While WordPress has a MUCH bigger base of users, it's only because it was one of the first CMS's available. The problem with WP is it was built to make a blogging website and this is still it's main focus. Adding new content or modifying a webpage is confusing and NOT WYSIWYG. With C5, you add and edit content directly on the webpage and the dashboard is reserved (usually) for administrative functions. The bottom line is if all you want is a blog, use WP, if you want a blog with the possibility to grow it into a business... or if you have no interest in running a blog, use Concrete5.
snake
Agree with rockface. WP is great for setting up a simple site that wont change much, but it is not a CMS and doesn't even have any CMS functionality. You can a basic page edit, that's all. If you want complex CMS functions such as expiry dates, timed page deployment, peer approval, change history with rollback, dynamic content etc, then you need Concrete or Joomla or similar. There are various plugins for WP to make it do most of these things, but they are very clunky and not easy to use in most cases.
Jbro
Definitely Wordpress! You get a smooth integration with WHMCS as well, see http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/whmcs-bridge/ and who know probably a smooth hacking too lol
