usadomains
The new upgrade/downgrade function is very nice ..many thanks ... however it would be nice to see it support only the upgrades selected that are defined in the "Upgrades" tab when configuring a product, instead of showing all products available.
WHMCS CEO Matt Posted January 13, 2011 WHMCS CEO Share Posted January 13, 2011 All this would do is limit what you can do with it. It would mean you can't place an upgrade (or downgrade) order as an admin without having enabled it for clients to be able to do it themselves via the client area. And one of the main points of this feature is that admins can place upgrades when clients aren't given the ability to so we wouldn't want to do that. ExsysHost
Hi Matt, Maybe add it in as part of the permissions system, this isnt a problem for us as we are small but I could see this being a problem for a large company who wishes to limit what a sales agent is capable of doing for an end user. Common restrictions that large companies enforce on their sales agents: 1) Limit which upgrades they can offer 2) Limit which promos they can offer 3) Limit what is visible to them packages, accounts etc In a large company the department of customer loss prevention might be able to extend many more offers to a customer than say the people in the sales department. You see this with Sprint.com departments all the time But like as you said the admins should be able to do any action, there just should be some permissions system that allows us to define which departments can do what, as to prevent employee abusing and giving the world away to his friends. --Stephen

WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted January 20, 2011 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted January 20, 2011 Yes, that's the expected behaviour and is consistent throughout WHMCS; domains are registered when the invoice is paid and so are upgrades etc.
