MikeDVB
This utility you can adjust the billing date of services/products to match but it looks like you still have to manually create pro-rated invoices for the time differences as near as I can tell. Any thoughts on an option to automatically create pro-rated invoices. For example: Service 1: due Dec 25, 2010 Service 2: due Dec 30, 2010 If you mass change the two of them to be on the 30th, it will generate a pro-rated invoice for Service 1 from December 25th to December 30th? That would be VERY useful.

MikeDVB
Nothing from WHMCS staff?
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted December 23, 2010 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted December 23, 2010 That's correct, the mass change just lets you change the various settings of the products/services, it doesn't generate any invoices as a result of the changes you make.
MikeDVB
That's correct, the mass change just lets you change the various settings of the products/services, it doesn't generate any invoices as a result of the changes you make.So essentially it's for the most part useless. If you were to want to do mass changes like these, you'd certainly want the billing to be accurate... Since WHMCS is a billing management system it doesn't make sense to offer this mass change feature if it only does 1/2 of the job and doesn't even alert you that you'd need to make the invoice adjustments manually. The only thing that would interest me is if it made the billing changes (i.e. pro-rated credits or invoices). Obviously you wouldn't want to force that but give the option such as: "Do you wish to generate pro-rated invoices and credits? Yes/No" Edited December 23, 2010 by MikeDVB
WHMCS CEO Matt Posted December 23, 2010 WHMCS CEO Share Posted December 23, 2010 It's hardly useless. For one the next due date is only one of a number of things you can use the feature to change, and secondly up until now you would have had to generate the invoice manually and then go into each product individually and change the due date so this will at least half the time it takes to do what you're wanting to here. A automated invoice for a change of due date is a possible future extension of it.

I'm not saying there are not other possible good uses, I'm just saying for this purpose it does the "easy" part of the job. I'd sooner have it generate the pro-rated invoices and I'd gladly adjust the billing dates of the products. At any rate, I'd consider this particular aspect of this feature only 1/2 implemented. Give the option to pro-rate invoices and credits and it'll be an amazing upgrade.

Yes, I have to agree that this would be an amazingly useful if Matt can implement it (if = wants to, lol; we all know that he CAN do it).
