tkalfaoglu
Hi there.. I'm in the process of adding domains previously (manually) registered by me using OpenSRS to the new whmcs installation.. (I'm an opensrs reseller) As mentioned in the documentation, I create a client then add his/her domain(s). However, because of the username/password discrepancy (AFAIK whmcs makes up a domain admin user/password, which is different than what I had made up earlier when I registered the domain), I fear that in the future whmcs will be unable to control that domain (suspend unsuspend, etc). Are my fears unfounded? Please tell me so Regards, Turgut Edited November 30, 2010 by tkalfaoglu
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted November 30, 2010 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted November 30, 2010 OpenSRS is very unusual in that each domain has its own username and pass and just being the reseller that owns it is not enough to request info about it. The domain has to be registered by WHMCS for it to know the user/pass and be able to query for info and perform updates. You can still use WHMCS to renew these domains.
tkalfaoglu
Thank you John -- in that case, can we at least see the username/password that whmcs assigns? Because I can manually go into openSRS interface and modify the username/password there so it matches the whmcs ones.. Right now, when I click on the DOMAIN tab while viewing a customer, I'm getting "Registrar Error Authentication Error." for every domain that a person has. Thanks, -turgut
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted December 1, 2010 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted December 1, 2010 There is an algorithm WHMCS uses to generate the username and password, feel free to open a ticket and we can give you more information.
