A user just submitted an order and I've never received this error before. Edited September 6, 2010 by Sny
scurrell
How can I address this issue? A user just submitted an order and I've never received this error before. At a guess, the domain transfer requires an EPP key to transfer, but you haven't selected the EPP key checkbox on the domain pricing page. The client therefore managed to submit a transfer order without the necessary key, which is why it failed.
Sny
How can I go about fixing this now? I've checked those boxes and he has unlocked the domains at his registrar (another eNom reseller).

Ask him to send you the codes (that he should have obtained from his current registrar) and then you can resubmit the transfer from the domains' detail page.
sparky
Go to domain pricing and for that tld check the epp checkbox and save. Then in the clients profile in admin click the domains tab then click transfer and enter the correct epp key.

nuwavestudios
do the epp keys expire after a certain amount of time? if the client doesn't make the transfer request in a certain amount of time, do they have to request a new code?

I don't think this is the case with all registrars, but I have had some cases where the client was emailed a 'new' EPP code a few days after getting the original and I think it was because the original EPP key timed out.

Yes EPPs expire usually after 7 days, registrar and tld dependant
