dswp
I have read everything I can find on upgrading but nothing tells me a couple things - - do I have to overwrite the 'whmcs/templates' directory? - if I changed the name of my admin login link (as recommended when I initially installed whmcs) then do I have to change & overwrite it in the new version before uploading? - I have customized my lang file - should I delete the new one before uploading? - basically do I have to overwrite EVERYTHING ? Can I overwrite the php files and leave the tpl except for the change log ones? - the whmcs/images folder - are those for the admin side or client side? - when I initially installed this, I was told to remove the templates_c to the root directory - now it is in the upgrade pkg again - is this supposed to be there (under the whmcs directory) now? The upgrade looks great. I really hope that I can click on "open cpanel" in client side & admin side and actually open more than a blank page now! The order form looks MUCH better! And the updates/ twitter stuff - all very cool. THe BIGGEST upgrade to me is the option to edit an invoice before it is sent by default. thanks!
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted August 31, 2010 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted August 31, 2010 1. You only need to upload the files listed under "Template Changes". 2. Yes 3. You can simply add the new lang strings to your customised file: http://wiki.whmcs.com/Version_4.3_Release_Notes#New_Language_File_Lines'>http://wiki.whmcs.com/Version_4.3_Release_Notes#New_Language_File_Lines 4. Yes 4. Upload the files to your existing installation folder overwriting any existing files http://wiki.whmcs.com/Version_4.3_Release_Notes 5. Client side. 6. If you've moved the templates_c directory then there's no need to re-create it in your whmcs directory.
mikelegg
Thanks for this - I was just about to ask the same question regarding the custom admin folder name.
