Hello,

I am moving my website to another host. Is there any specific procedure on how to move WHMCS successfully from 1 host to another ?

Both are on cpanel but have different home dir name. Please suggest if i need to take any precautions or I can just back it up and move and extract ?

Thanks.

Hi Kikloo,

I was moving my WHMCS between servers little more than year ago and I did't it manually as I had only on one server cPanel installed.

I did backup of WHMCS database and move it to new serwer, then copied all WHMCS files between serwers trough ftp. Last thing was reissue license in WHMCS Client Area.

I think that when you moved betwwen two servers with cPanel you just need to moved account by cPanel tools from WHM and then reissue license.

Rgds,

Messer

PS

precautions = BACKUP always

  • 1 year later...

I will in few weeks change my server. I would like to secure a little.

is this way correct?

- move FTP folder (whmcs) to new Server

- import database

- edit configuration.php with new username, password and name

- edit licence for new IP

- change Nameserver Record to new IP

- reinstall payment gatways (hand-made interface)

I need to do anything else? cronjob, addons, ...

Best regards
