Paypal or Worldpay Gateways

We are currently stuck with setting up WHMCS as we can’t set up the payment gateways largely because we can’t find a clear description of how to do this anywhere.

We are specifically trying to set up Worldpay and PayPal.

In the setup areas (Admin -> Setup -> Payment Gateways) the only information apparently needed for Worldpay is the Installation ID and for PayPal our email address.

That seems a very limited amount of info required - have I missed something?

I tried a test purchase from PayPal and WHCMS reports it as a success and marks the invoice paid and the product purchased but nothing happens at PayPal. In fact, its so quick I am suspicious it does not even go to PayPal.

Obviously I can’t go live if the products and services are processed but I don’t get a payment.

I llooked at http://wiki.whmcs.com/PayPal and http://wiki.whmcs.com/WorldPay. Is there a more through and complete guide anywhere?

The lack of response indicates that the only information need to integrate Worldpay or PayPal is as follows;

  • Worldpay is the Installation ID
  • PayPal is our PayPal email address.

Can someone at least confirm that is correct and no other settings are required. Then at least I can get on and try and find out why neither of them are working.

  • WHMCS Support Manager

Regarding PayPal you need to enter your email address and configure the IPN settings according to our documentation.

If you're using just plain Worldpay (and not Futurepay) then all that's needed is the Installation ID and to set the Payment Response URL according to our documentation.

OK, I got PayPal working :)

The problem was that the two test purchases I made came from our WHMCS test accounts and they had a credit balance. Unlike AWBS, at the checkout it doesn’t give you the option (or information) that it’s going to be paid from credits so we didn't know. I wonder if PayPal has a ‘test’ mode.

Worldpay is still not working. I re-entered all the details and I now get two new errors:

The first is an Worldpay message saying ; “You are sending a test purchase to a live environment”. Then providing the option to switch to ‘Test’. Hitting that option then tells me that :

The transaction cannot be processed due to the following: the merchant is not authorised to use Select for purchases” which is a bit odd as checking Wp there are payments currently going through from our live site :?
