I have taken on board what several people have said and now that i have some spare time i have decided to redesign my whole site, which i will eventally have WHMCS integrated into the site.

I have set this poll so i can get opinions on which design is preferred.

A. http://easyasabc-hosting.com (current)

B. http://easyasabc-hosting.com/site B (redesign)

some links in the redesign will not work as this is still in progress.

Check out 247hosting.co.nz - just different colours. Does look good however.

so we both got a template from onlinetemplates.org.

we cant all be coders or designers, at least this was we get a template with a style sheets, so we can have a play and amend to suit our business.

I find it hard to focus on both the designs (not that they are much different). Your focal points are everywhere.

The overall design is nice. It looks fancy, however it wont sell me.

The first thing I would change is that flashing live support icon. Boy is that distracting. You want people to know it is there, however you do not want it in peoples faces. Flashing pictures is no longer the "in"

The next thing I would do is probably remove that whole top area actually. The twitter picture does not fit there along with the live support icon.

Position the upper nav to the left after the banner and move the phone number to the bottom or else where. The way the phone number is in there doesn't fit. It just all seems like a big stretch. I have to shift my eyes from left, center, right, which makes the focal point really none-existent.

Next I would say have the account features on one area and testimonials in another. Not side by side but one after another. This again has to do with the shifting of the eyes. Everything is everywhere. Making it hard to read. Your audience only wants to see one thing at a time....

Hope that helps.

I am looking at these points, i have someone designing a new logo to match with the sites colours.

The support icon is standard, and initially this would only fit where i have placed it, this will be moved when i get my new logo and the twitter logo will also be moved.

You shouldn't be re-designing your logo to match your site it should be the other way around!

and how many posts have you made in the last 12 months with a new brand id? I must of seen a fair few.

I would seriously suggest you invest some proper time and money into getting it all done properly.

Start with your brand identity and style guide then have a website built based on that style guide.

Also your website claims: award winning service yet provide no information to back this up. What awards is it you have won exactly then?

I am not new to this game.

I have been in the hosting business for the last 10 years, i recently took over 2 other hosting businesses, so now i am rebranding all my hosting businesses under 1 brand ID, new name, new logo and new brand.

this is the same process a lot of international companies do when they take over other businesses

......... and move the phone number to the bottom or else where..

I would agree the phone number needs a little work, but I respectfully disagree with the phone number being moved from to "anyplace else" but the header.

Keep in mind you want items in the header that will build trust in your customer, remember you going to ask them for them their money, not win a graphics contest. Time and time again in real world testing having a phone number in the header will help with conversion rates for any type of ecommerce site as will any trust building information.

I would agree the twitter logo/link should be moved lower in the page.

Keep in mind, these three things, you want to build credibility and trust with you potential client, then you want to make it very clear that what you have will solve my problem and then tell me how to get your service/products, then make your site look nice.

what sort of work do you thinks needs doing on the phone number

I would agree the twitter logo/link should be moved lower in the page.

I have tried moving this, but it causes problems with the rest of the site. I mat use one of the graphics twitter actually provides.

Misspelled?

the-ink-shop.co.uk appears to be it, but wayback has no mention of you being a host prior to June 2001 on that site. In fact, no results before that on the wayback site at all, but thanks. I suppose it's plausible you were offering hosting in 1999 there, there's just no evidence to show it.

Thanks!

I find it very hard to believe that a company that has been trading for 10 years needs to resort to cheap html templates for their website and require feedback from a public forum.
