rldev
I seem to be unable to put html code in my admin signatures. Wehn the admin replies, the signature results in html code. However, I have no problem putting html in the default whmcs mail signature, it displays properly. So what's the difference?
thehost5968
I think this is so no client can reply to a ticket with a harmful html script in it as if html was usable then a script could run and open up your WHMCS etc... I may be why at on this but this is just my view.
rldev
The generic whmcs email signature has this ability, so I doubt this is the reason.
thehost5968
Yes But the "generic whmcs email signature" does not get a reply that comes back in to WHMCS at lest my one does not? now there may be a smarty tag that will allow you to do this for out going but not for incoming? rldev
Mine does. Doesn't it have to be an email account?
thehost5968
Are we on the same wave here? generic whmcs email signature = set-up within General Settings >> mail and html in admin signatures = Support Ticket Signature set-up within General Settings >> Administrators if so then generic whmcs email signature is for out going email only with no reply's logged / pulled in to WHMCS but html in admin signatures is for out going and incoming emails and is logged / pulled in to WHMCS?
thehost5968
and if you mean generic whmcs email signature when you receive email reply out side of WHMCS then this is due to the client not having sent it as html and only sending it as plan text.

Yes we are and I do understand the differences and this is precisely how it is setup.

Not so. Email sent from genric addresswith html code in signature works fine. Email sent from admin replies do not handle html code, it just gets reprinted in the email. This is being sent to a account that is not plain text.
thehost5968
well if your customer replys from there pc email client like thunderbird then they get the choice to send as text or html. yes your server email account may be set up to receive html but if your customer has not replyed / sent it as html then it will not be html as there would not be any code but plain text. but any way this is the same for ticket replys to.

I thank you for your help, but this is not the case here. I am sending the emails to myself. They are all html accounts.
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted March 9, 2010 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted March 9, 2010 HTML is never parsed in ticket replies, so that you can send code to your clients. As the admin signatures are included in the ticket reply, it is not possible for them to use HTML.
