dmwalk
My support department is set up to open tickets via piping when clients email support@domainx.com, which works fine. As I have multiple sites, I would like clients who email to support@domainy.com to also be able to open tickets. So, I have set up a CPanel forwarder from support@domainy.com -> support@domainx.com. However, these tickets are not imported. The Import log shows Department not found. Not sure why the forwarded emails are not imported. Any suggestions?
JofleyUK
Thats because, and I assume you are piping mails from the domainx.com domain, the email wont exist in the departments. It will be looking for domainx, not domainy or z. Even Kayako would have a problem with that. As the original email header will be for the y and z domain and not contain the send to header of domainx.com which is what the importer paser is looking for.
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted March 1, 2010 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted March 1, 2010 It would be better to use the cron piping method for the domainy.com domains.
dmwalk
It would be better to use the cron piping method for the domainy.com domains. I thought cron piping only worked on the domain that whmcs was installed on (in my case, domainx).
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted March 2, 2010 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted March 2, 2010 Nope This method is recommend if you use any control panel other than cPanel or if you are wanting to pipe emails from domains other than just where your WHMCS system is installed. http://wiki.whmcs.com/Email_Piping#Cron_Piping_Method
