easyhosting
hi, which live chat script do you suggest? i looked to liveperson, kayako, livehelp, providesupport, phplive ... i used livezilla. are any of them better than livezilla? sure they must be better, becuse they are not free but is the difference huge? and which one do you suggest? why? thank you. I use comm100.com, it is free and great and one main advantage it is not hosting on your server. it is hosted by then with you having full access like any other services (livezilla etc.)

easyhosting
livezilla etc are free. it states in the admin area "open source and free hosted customer service software" check http://comm100.com/ it states Comm100: 100% Communication, 100% Success. Comm100 provides open source and free hosted customer support and communication software for small and medium businesses. "We believe customer service and communication is a key factor in achieving your business success," said Amy Gu, Vice President of Comm100. "We focus on developing and managing fully integrated customer support solutions to enable you to communicate with your customers effectively through multiple communication channels, including Live Chat, Forum, Newsletter, Survey, Knowledge Base, Email Case management and Ticket system." Why All Comm100 Customer Service Software is Free? Comm100 believes every business deserves top-tier customer support and communication software. Free software is a widely adopted and proven business model. Well-known free software includes Wordpress, Java, Linux and so on. In the future, we will charge fees for add-on services. However, all features you get free now will continue to be free in the future. it is alway up 100% not like livezilla which in unreliable and always has issues. alos it does not take up space on your server/site as it is hosted elsewhere. also thehost5968 at least comms100 is still operating mot like the one you use Sales-n-Stats who seem to have gone to the wall stopped new sales how long before they cease working with exsisting clients, i guess not long Edited February 16, 2010 by easyhosting
thehost5968
I now all about open sourcebut it is the free hosting side I was talking about. Re Sales-n-Stats Yes they have stopped all new version and new client and probably support but I think it is the best out there and have tryed most others and still end up going back to Sales-n-Stat, why course over the past 5 to 6 years of using it I have never had to ask for support and had now errors and it installs the first time every time.

This is a question that only comm100 can answer, all i know in the 18 months i have been with them, i have never needed any support etc. with livezilla which was good at first, over the last 2 years with them i was forever having to rest my server datails etc and always contacting their support and it was never any fault of theirs even when server logs etc proved that problems were with their end. I tested many before chosing comm100.

thebyp
I use livezilla and have no problem with it, not sure if i have been lucky or what but i find it very dependable.
easyhosting
Livezilla was very dependable at first, used it for several years, but when things started to go wrong, it seemed like their support had not a clue how to sort things out, then their attitude towards me changed and became less pleasant and they said the problems were at my end even after prove was sent to then showing it was problems at their end. when anyone starts abusing me i will not trade with them.
bear
I've been using Livezilla for a month or two now, and haven't seen any issues. Before that (and still) I used Kayako and find it has some faults (sometimes will drop a chat, but not often), but not many. Pricey, but I got it with the suite bundle. One thing I despise about all the chats I've tried is the text entry window for the chat operator. Why do they all find it impossible to allow that to be resized? Every single one I've used has maybe 4 lines before it scrolls. Annoying.

robotronik
People who say LiveZilla is unreliable, it rock solid reliable unless the server you are using is unreliable. The software they use is great and they update often. To be honest, it is a surprise LiveZilla is free, they are great. Highly customisable and you can even pipe your clients details (Details saved on WHMCS system) through to chat if you know how to do it! This is another great feature because if they use live support you have all of their details to hand such as client name, client email address, company name etc. Doesn't get better! My server is 100% reliable. so was livezilla at first, but when problems start i expect support and not abuse from their support agents.

ninak
Use Mibew too. Simple and easy. Thank you for that suggestion. I have looked into it. Yes it seems to be easy to use but it is not what we we're looking for. I really like the fact that the other one is not on my server. I may be a pessimist when it comes to things like this so I am a bit limited in what I will use and what I will not. But thank you anyway.

disgruntled
I have never understood why people choose to use support hosted elsewhere, If you really do need a support system that is isolated from your own website's server. You must have literally 10's of thousands of clients. Quit being a cheap skate and install the server software on your own dedicated servers. your administration team should know how to setup failover to another server for the support system if you dont. Livezilla, Hosted on your own servers and customised to your own needs. Failing that you can always have your development team create your own live support and then its yours and will do exactly what you want it to do. PS. If you have access to the source of the support system, simply modify it to your own needs (text box.. make it BIGGER) (development team).
