ChrisGooding
Hi Guys, It has been brought to my attention that the email we receive upon our cron being run, is no longer being sent. We have checked our logs, and the cron is running, and from the loook of the activity logs, it is completing succesfully, just not sending the emails. All other crons we have run fine, even the ones that send us emails, such as the enom domain sync cron. The wierd thing, is that after looking into it, this is the same accross all of our whmcs installations, with the dates the emails stopped tallying up with when we upgraded our shops. So far I have checked/done:- Re-uploaded the cron.php file from a fresh 4.12 download- (in binary) Checked execution times for php scripts - Set as they were before max_execution 400....etc Checked the ioncube loaders functionality - Successfully Checked the cron command - unchanged, and correct] Checked file permissions on the cron file - unchanged, and as they should be Had 5 minutes away from my machine for a hard long coffee Still nothing I could understand this if it were a localised issue, but to happen accross all of our whmcs installs, which incidentally all run on completely seperate web servers (NOT cPANEL), its just odd. Are there any issues that people know of with the cron email and version 4.12, as I know there was talk of extending the info in it.......... Any help, advice or info welcome, cheers folks.

ChrisGooding
Well at least I know it isn't just us. Any news from the guys at WHMCS? Possible fixes, solutions even? Thanks
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted January 20, 2010 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted January 20, 2010 In Utilities > Activity Log do you see "Cron Job: Completed"? Please confirm that Setup > Administrator Roles > System Emails is ticked.
ChrisGooding
Hi John, Yes, the cron shows as completed within the activity log, and everything that should be done by the cron is done, bar the email being sent. And yes, the system emails rule is checked too, has been all along, hence the confusion as to why it would just...... well stop. We use message labs for our anti-spam/anti-virus system as well, and that isn't filtering it out either, it isn't even receiving the mail. This is for all 3 of our systems, all of which are on completely different servers, the only common denominator surrounding this is that they were all updated to the latest version of whmcs the day before the cron stopped working. That is why I went down the route of re-uploading and checking that everything that needed to be set up on a server for an install was as it was for version 4.12, as described in the install instructions, just to make sure nothing was missing or out of date. No joy though. Edited January 21, 2010 by ChrisGooding
ChrisGooding
OK, just a quick update on this. Since last posting we have only had the email though twice, which makes this even stranger........ Surely has to be a memory thing. Has anyone else been experiencing this?
scurrell
OK, just a quick update on this. Since last posting we have only had the email though twice, which makes this even stranger........ Surely has to be a memory thing. Has anyone else been experiencing this? Have you tried increasing the PHP memory limit? That's usually the problem with ours.

ChrisGooding
An update from us.. Still not getting the email, and we have increased our memory limit. What we have noticed is that within the activity log, on some occasions, the cron does log as beng completed. However, there appears to be a lot of instances where the cron logging stops at "Cron Job: Running Usage Stats Update " I cant see why, we have severely increased the memory limit, (weve even had it set to 2GB!!!), so I cant see how this could be a memory issue.
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted February 16, 2010 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted February 16, 2010 Are all the servers in Setup > Servers online and available?
ChrisGooding
WOW!!!, that was it. Never thought to check that page, and upon opening it, I got an error saying that one of the modules was corrupted. SImply removed the module and deleted the srever, and hey presto I get the email after running the cron manually Never would have thought of that in a month of Sundays!! (Advice for others that may have this, do not delete the module/server if it is in use by a service, re-upload the files. I only deleted it as the module/server was unused!!!!)
