ckh
When viewing a ticket and clicking the Options tab, you used to get a drop down box where you could select the client. Now it's a text box and you need to know the client ID and enter the number in order to select the correct client. Since I won't know the client id off the top of my head, I have to search for it and then enter it. I miss the old drop down box....
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted January 19, 2010 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted January 19, 2010 The view ticket page is customisable, so you can replace it with the dropdown box if you like.
WHMCS CEO Matt Posted January 19, 2010 WHMCS CEO Share Posted January 19, 2010 At the same time, a dropdown introduces 2 main problems - if the client list is large, loading a dropdown slows down the page loading considerably, which for ticket processing you want to be as fast as possible, and also it can be hard to locate the name you're looking for. With the text box, and intelligent search available on the same page, all you need to is enter the name or email of the person you're looking for into the intelli-search, hover over their name in the results and then you see their ID in the browser status bar which you can enter into the ID box. Some kind of ajax search on the tickets options itself might be nice in future to simplify it a bit further. Matt
