GORF
There are settings in the reseller account you signed up with through WHMCS.com to NOT send emails to customers and let your WHMCS send reminders. You need to change those. Maybe take a minute and go through ALL of your settings - things that need to be set up BEFORE opening your doors for business

Thanks for the point in the right direction. Luckily the client is a very good friend of mine=)
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted January 15, 2010 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted January 15, 2010 It's just because you signed up under the WHMCS Enom offer that Enom sends it's emails in our name. Settings > Reseller tab > "Do not contact my customers for renewal" is the option you're looking for.
DKUK
What ever way you look at this it's deceitful... I followed Johns directions some time ago.. Now i find, though i don't get these reminders for domain renewals any more, I get them for whois protection instead... Can someone please tell me how to stop this.. (preferably without trolling) I just can't see the reason why "WHMCS" should be plastered all over emails being sent to my customers, regardless of purpose... Especially when I've triple checked to make sure every option is set for it not to happen. In the threads I've read so far, none have been really helpful, but as it wasn't made clear at signup that i was actually signing up for a whmcs reseller account with enom, I don't know who's to blame for this...

Erm, i am sure that i read that all contacts will be send AS ME.. well i will have to change this. yes very deceitful. -1 for WHMCS/Enom Reseller account. Luckily there are so many plus points this is negligible but still, You really should unbrand those emails your undermining your own clients business. that's very unprofessional
disgruntled
but as it wasn't made clear at signup that i was actually signing up for a whmcs reseller account with enom, I don't know who's to blame for this... That is how Enom Sub-Reseller Accounts work (yes these are not technically reseller accounts at all. WHMCS is the reseller. Each of us is a Sub-Reseller under WHMCS, The pricing you pay, is the pricing set by WHMCS, unless they have set the price to match what they pay which I'm not sure of, then they get commission on everything you sell through the account. I would have thought when you purchased something and got the email as WHMCS you would have gathered that. This benefits us of course in a way, Many of us could not hope to get the pricing we get through this account. you need to maintain X thousands in your credits to get these prices directly with Enom. I will just say though, WHMCS i believe don't make a commission on this or at least very little per item because I had another reseller account with an unamed hosting company and they wanted to charge me retail price for everything, on top of this, they also branded all of the emails.
easyhosting
We have a sub reseller account off a resellerclub reseller and we get good prices for our domains, but we set our prices to the bear minimum as the try and keep our prices on par with those like 123-reg, which we do, we make up our profit on hosting plans
w0ktr0n
This just happened to me yet again, despite having ticked "Do not send renewal reminder emails to my customers. I will send these." It doesn't seem to happen with domains though, just SSL certificates. Ofcourse all this happens a few days after I lose support with my owned license, but with the way things are here at WHMCS at this point, I'm not keen at all on ordering further yearly "support". Going to move all clients over from Enom to NEO as well if this doesn't get sorted quickly. [/rant]

w0ktr0n
You wouldn't even need to contact us regarding this issue, you can contact eNom directly: Okay, done that now and their response was (as I full on expected): The Reseller Renewal Settings only affect the notices for Domains. Certificate notification will come from the parent Reseller. Any way of changing this on your part? If not, I'm ditching ENOM.
