New Year graph summary error

Call it whatever you want. But it's an error that looks nasty right smack on my home page.

WHMCSGraph ERROR

[1] Dataset 1 contains invalid data.

ERROR ? INVALID DATA ?

Please can you just change it to show a friendly "No data available yet" message or something.

Thanks

actually a 0 in a graph is valid data. And your right it didn't do it last year, so it is a BUG with 2010 Matt, don't side step it because you don't want to take the time to fix a possible one time error.

Agree 100% Zero is still valid data and this should be fixed. Very unprofessional if this is not fixed/patch soon. I thought WHMCS was better than this.

The graph was only added in Version 4.0 released in February of 2009, hence it couldn't have happened in January 2009 and isn't a 2010 specific issue. You've just never had the graph when there's been no orders for a year before, and neither have we. No side-stepping is taking place.

The graph is still showing your orders from 2009 until you get a 2010 order despite the warning message so no need to get so antsy. I'm sure by the time 2011 rolls around we can get something in place so it doesn't show up but it's not like there's a critical issue here.

I think the word "error" in the message sets off an alarm with most of us. Maybe that wording could be changed in future updates? Maybe just "No orders to show" or something like that.

I agree it's not a critical issue, but it *is* nice to know the cause, and that it's nothing to worry about. I've already had to deal with a SpamAssassin date bug, so logging in and seeing another "error" brought me here.

It appears that this is not a system error. The message will go away when you get your first order for the year, or something like that. But the way in which it is presented is causing a good deal of alarm. I would rather categorize this as a "usability issue".

On the WHMCS Admin Homepage:

"WHMCSGraph Error

[1] Dataset 1 contains invalid data."

Chart shows months of 2009 and did not move on to 2010.

Blimey. Anyone would have thought the world had stopped turning with all these "OMG I have an error message on my graph"!!

Does it stop your business in it's tracks?

No

Hardly cause for excitement then is it really? An incredibly mild error that is dead simple to fix and some posters on this thread think that WHMCS should rush out an update?? Ridiculous...

I laughed :)

Whatever you want to call this, it definitely is an issue. There's a big yellow box that says an error has occurred.

5 days into the new year, and this thread has nearly 1000 hits, clearly users of WHMCS believe this isn't normal behavior.

Whether or not you want to call this a bug, it is still something that should be changed.
