eugenevdm
On our system we use three name servers. Is it possible to configure WHMCS to use three name servers? This is not a train smash as I can think of some possible workarounds, but if possible it will save me some major DNS server re-architecture. kindest regards, Eugene
WHMCS CEO Matt Posted February 17, 2007 WHMCS CEO Share Posted February 17, 2007 There isn't currently any built in support for more than 2 nameservers. Are you requiring this for the server setup section for then including in welcome emails, or in the domain registration/manage sections, or both? eugenevdm
Thanks for the reply. Strictly speaking we don't need it in the server setup section because we're using Plesk and for the Plesk templates already assigns DNS. However since it is a courtesy to send welcome e-mails with all name servers that we're using yes we will need it there. We do however need it for the domain registration/manage section because we always use three name server for redundancy, so at present we can't effectively use the eNom module because it will only allow two. kind regards, Eugene
Georges
I would need this too, for registering domains.
bucketshop
I would like to see support for up to 5 name servers myself. I guess it could be optional and not required. We use a distributed DNS system so it would be great if it were a configurable item.
Blueberry3.14
Add me too, please. (To the list of people who would like to see this implemented).
s1rk3ls
Ditto... Would be nice to specify more than 2 nameservers in enom
othellotech
Would be nice to specify more than 2 nameservers in enom Its essential on some ccTLDs to specify all your nameservers if you run a distributed DNS or the domains wont register .DE springs immediately to mind, but there are others.
eugenevdm
Has any plans been made yet to support more than two name servers? We are migrating 1100 domain names to WHMCS and we really would like to have an update on this functionality.
kokyew
Yes, this is very useful and I think at least 4 nameservers support is needed
dbMG
Yes. I agree that min. 4 nameservers support is needed!

Gregg
although I don't currently use this, it would definately be a good option to have!
nitro
I think that this needs to be relocated to the feature requests forum. To clarify my previous vote, I would like to see the features for up to 5 name servers to be implemented throughout the system, from order placement to client notification emails to client area / admin area domain sections. Failing that, just adding the extra fields to the client area and admin area domain management sections would be a good start.
wickshosting
It would be nice to see additional nameservers, although they could be easily added manually to the setup email templates.
Georges
It would be nice to see additional nameservers, although they could be easily added manually to the setup email templates. ...which is not the point here. I / we would need to be able to specify more than two nameserver for domain and account creation, which is not possible via templates.
