Have you tried contacting StarDevelop directly about the specific issue you're having as their website says the software is compatible with Windows 7 - maybe try it on another Windows 7 machine if you can get access to one to rule out the possibility of it being something on your computer? Again, have you tried contacting Modules Garden about their cPanel Extended module and the problems you're having? - I don't really see how this is WHMCS' fault as its a third party plugin... I agree with you about the design of the Live Chat admin portal - It looks too over the top...maybe to "jQuerryyyish" lol I've recently started using the live chat addon again and I could have sworn that it used to have the ability to create a ticket of the chat (so if someone contacted you via live chat for support it would record the lot into a ticket at the end for reference) But it no longer seems to have that feature (unless I just dreamt that it had that ability a few years back?) - It's a pain in the neck either way. I wasnt even aware that they made a Mac version - I might buy it myself, what are your thoughts on it so far?

Hi All, I've run into a bit of a problem and can't get my head around it..... I'm using the API to create an invoice for a client, that works fine but I can't work out how to grab the InvoiceID for the invoice I've just created....Any help/guidance would be greatly appreciated. Kind Regards, Ben

Hi thedangler, Sure, WHMCS basically submits a form to paypal with hidden fields that contain the invoice information and then has a return url which tells the paypal module in whmcs whether its paid or not... The form is on this page: http://www.yourdomain.com/urltoyourwhmcsinstallation/viewinvoice.php?id=yourinvoicenumber Here's an example of the form (with generic details obviously) <form method="post" action="https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr"> <input type="hidden" value="_xclick" name="cmd"> <input type="hidden" value="yourpaypalemailaddresshere" name="business"> <input type="hidden" value="Your Company Name - Invoice #1234" name="item_name"> <input type="hidden" value="100.00" name="amount"> <input type="hidden" value="0.00" name="tax"> <input type="hidden" value="1" name="no_note"> <input type="hidden" value="1" name="no_shipping"> <input type="hidden" value="0" name="address_override"> <input type="hidden" value="Test" name="first_name"> <input type="hidden" value="Client" name="last_name"> <input type="hidden" value="" name="address1"> <input type="hidden" value="Adelaide" name="city"> <input type="hidden" value="South Australia" name="state"> <input type="hidden" value="5000" name="zip"> <input type="hidden" value="AU" name="country"> <input type="hidden" value="61" name="night_phone_a"> <input type="hidden" value="" name="night_phone_b"> <input type="hidden" value="utf-8" name="charset"> <input type="hidden" value="AUD" name="currency_code"> <input type="hidden" value="1234" name="custom"> <input type="hidden" value="https://yourdomain.com/urltoyourwhmcsinstallation/viewinvoice.php?id=1234&paymentsuccess=true" name="return"> <input type="hidden" value="https://https://yourdomain.com/urltoyourwhmcsinstallation/viewinvoice.php?id=1234&paymentfailed=true" name="cancel_return"> <input type="hidden" value="https://https://yourdomain.com/urltoyourwhmcsinstallation/modules/gateways/callback/paypal.php" name="notify_url"> <input type="hidden" value="WHMCS_ST" name="bn"> <input type="hidden" value="2" name="rm"> <input name="submit" type="submit" value="submit"> </form> Let me know if you need any help. the return & cancel_return can go to your custom application (instead of whmcs if you want), or you can probably do away with them all together. Let me know if you need any more help

Dont know why I didn't think of that, pretty much got it all working. Thanks so much for that Joe, much appreciated.

Thanks Joe, I'll check that out.

Thanks Joe, I obviously have mis-read and misinterpreted the capture payment article. Would you be able to give me some direction as to how I would get a paypal payment made and applied to an order/invoice generated via the API? I've read the "Add Invoice Payment" article and understand that but that's not going to direct the user to paypal to make the payment and then back to the website to add the payment to that particular invoice. Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Kind Regards, Ben

I've got to say this seems to be a topic that really isnt covered. I've searched and searched and Just can't seem to find anything on this. Can someone advise/suggest and ideas? I mean, do we have to deal with the paypal API as well or does the WHMCS API still deal with paypal? The API is quite clear on how to Add an Invoice payment, Capture a credit card payment, Add an order, etc but there's really not any useful information on how paypal works with the API and generated orders/invoices....

Hey Guys, I've searched the forum and can't seem to see much on this topic. Basically I'm building a custom client area whilst keeping whmcs alive in the background (and communicating with it via the API) now I'm up the ordering section of the client area and I'm wondering whether anyone could give me a hand with this. I've looked over http://docs.whmcs.com/API:Capture_Payment but it doesn't really give me much of an example. At the moment the only payment methods are Paypal & Bank Deposit so I'm hoping that will make things a little easier, obviously I'll only be wanting to capture Paypal payments. Would someone be able to give me a simple explanation and even a simple php example of how it works? Thanks in advance Ben

Thank you so much!!! That did it Thanks once again

Ok, well I've just tried it with a client username and password and I got "Authentication Failed"....so i'm guessing that client accounts wont work. Any other ideas?
-
I'm guessing you've changed the "username" to the username of the account your whmcs installation is on? From what I can see on your website this is the URL to your whmcs installation: http://www.unitechwebs.com/support/ so you need in your cron job "php -q /home/yourhostingaccountusername/public_html/support/pipe/pop.php" You also need to make sure you've entered correct login details in the support department settings in the WHMCS admin area. Hope this helps.

Hi JS-James, Firstly, thanks for your reply. Secondly, I am using the following: $url = "url to the api"; # URL to WHMCS API file goes here $username = "an admin username with api access"; # Admin username goes here $password = "the password for that user"; # Admin password goes here $postfields = array(); $postfields["action"] = "addticketreply"; $postfields['clientid'] = "$_GET[userid]"; $postfields["ticketid"] = "145"; $postfields["adminusername"] = "Auto-Response"; $postfields["message"] = "$_GET[message]"; I'm using an admin username which only has API access...If I remove the $username and $password variables then it throws the error "authentication failed" and doesn't submit the reply Do client username(s) and their passwords have API access? - I never tried it... Thanks Ben

Issues with Server Status Page

Check that PHPINFO is enabled in your php configuration, otherwise enable PHP Error reporting in General Settings -> Other -> Tick to enable PHP Error Reporting (Do not leave enabled in live use) then post back.. -
Hi, I've been building a custom system that allows clients to view and reply to their tickets. Viewing their tickets is no worry and replying to the ticket is no worry either however when I submit a ticket reply through the "External API" it shows as a staff member has submitted a reply, not the client. I've tried adding the $postfields["clientid"] = "1"; attribute which does add the client id to the tblticketreplies row "userid" but again...the system recognizes it as a staff reply rather than a client reply. How can I fix this? Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Detecting Login Session from External page
benyoungenterprises replied to benyoungenterprises's topic in General Discussion
Thanks so much for that, got it all working now as directed by that thread -
Hey Guys, Firstly I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. Secondly, I have a question: I've got the normal WHMCS client area login form on my website for clients to login.....But I'm wanting to set it up so that if they've already logged in (and the session still exists) it says "Welcome Back, BLAH" (Go to Client Area) (Logout) ELSE [LOGIN FORM] Now the hyper-linking I can do and logout fine but I'm wondering how I'd work out whether the login session is still there (I'm sure its just a simple bit of php) Hope that makes sense. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance Ben
