I think it doesn't matter what you change it to and change it back, and I heard several people resolve it by just saving the settings with it still at 8bit. Probably no need to change it and change it back. I think after the upgrade, it shows 8bit in the dropdown, but the value is actually blank until you save it.

I just purchased the mobile edition and have two issues. Selecting tickets shows only tickets awaiting reply. I want to be able to access tickets with other statuses. In addition if a Technical Support person logs on they get an error "You do not have the required permission to perform the selected operation!" They can then click on tickets, and proceed to do their work but I would like for them to have a more graceful entrance.

It looks like switching from PHP Mail() to SMTP has stopped the error

So is there an update for the OpenSRS module as well? The provided patch has eNom only. Do others require updating?

I'm not sure if this started after my recent upgrade to V4.3.1 or if it predates that. For some reason, I have not had customer complaints about it, although I have verified that it does happen with all customer orders. I guess since they can see that the order gets placed, they don't follow up on the error, though that surprises me.
-
When an order is placed I get a 500 Internal Server Error the error log says: malformed header from script. Bad header=/home/tulaadmin/dead.letter...: php-script This happens regardless of if the order is placed by a customer or from the admin side and regardless of what type of order (domain, hosting etc). The order does get placed and the emails are received.

Well you can certainly contact them and see if they have an API at all or if they support WHMCS.

Is this going to the Junk folder on some particular isp or on some particular receiving email client or is it happening to multiple recipients at different ISPs with different email clients?

They need to be a fixed amount, and the customer must have, and use, a PayPal account. They can't just be charged to the customer's CC via PayPal, as is possible via paypal on a single payment.

Same problem with multi year domain registrations. The recommended way to sell 3 - 10 year registrations is to set the product price to 0 and set options for the years, but that leaves $0 in the shopping cart, which isn't right.

From PayPal's Commercial Entity Agreement for PayPal Credit Card Funded Processing Services "Minimum or Maximum/Surcharges. Merchant agrees that it shall not set minimum or maximum transaction amounts or impose surcharges as a condition of honoring Visa and MasterCard cards."

Being able to fit it into a budget isn't necessarily the only reason for asking. Most senior citizens can probably afford a full price bus ticket, but it's not unreasonable for them to ask if there is a discount. If a charitable organization comes to me for hosting, I generally give them a discount. I don't imagine that 10% off makes or breaks their budget, but it's a few more dollars that they have, to do whatever good works they are in the business of doing. I'm sure most non-profits are more likely to need web hosting than a package like WHMCS, but that doesn't preclude the possibility that it might be useful in a few cases, rare though they may be. Maybe so, but it's a legitimate, pre-Sale question, that deserves a yes, no, or we evaluate it on a case by case basis, answer While it might not be something frequently needed by most charities, I previously cited several examples, and to go a step further, it might be useful in one of those examples, even if no funds were involved, for allowing the child organization to manage the services provided by the parent organization, providing helpdesk services etc.

It also only appears when you are in the "Client Area" home page. it disappears when you are in any other tab. For instance it is nowhere to be found if the customer is in "Client Area > My Invoices" or "Client Area > My Details". Which is probably why people are failing to see it. I know I had a hard time finding it.

Well I could imagine an organization that has a bunch of local chapters, or maybe a parent religious organization that might want to offer some kind of pre-configured website to their local congregations / chapters, at cost. I'm also aware of at least one (I'm sure there are others) ISP, located in a rural area that operates as a non profit. If the population is too sparse for big cable or telcos to offer internet service, a coop kind of arrangement might be the only option, other than satellite.

You shouldn't have to get a VPS or dedicated server to get curl support. I don't doubt that the reason your host isn't going to recompile php for you, is that it's on a shared server, but I offer it by default on my shared servers, and I'm sure many others do too. Perhaps they can move you to a different shared server, that is configured the way you need it, or perhaps you want to move to a shared server at a different host.

Everything will work, just nothing will happen automatically. You'd just have to manually run the php file either from the command line or through http.

I switched from MB5 and the only thing I missed was discounts. MB (at least MB5) offers more ways to offer discounts, and those simply get dropped. The thing to do is get the 15 day trial, and do the import. It doesn't hurt your MB data. It's a real quick simple process and if you identify something that makes it a real problem, you haven't done anything you can't walk away from. I have to say that after MB, using WHMCS feels like I just stopped hitting myself over the head with a hammer.

Opps. Never Mind! Aparently openSRS can have duplicate usernames. So I guess it's not only not a bug, but doesn't require any action.
-
Oh I guess you just do. It didn't seem very intuitive but it does seem to just work.
-
But how do I create two user accounts at openSRS with the same username and two different passwords?
-
As I understand it, the openSRS module uses the first 8 characters of the domain name as the username for the domain name at the registrar, and requires a unique username for each domain. This prevents the use of more than one domain with the same first 8 characters. It's quite common, at least for me, to have multiple domains with the same beginning. It would seem like using a username consisting of the beginning of the domain appended with the domain ID # from whmcs would make it much more likely that the unique username is available for each domain.
-
I can strip them out to individual accounts, except what happens with multiple domains with the same 1st 8 characters. This is quite common where a domain owner has something.com, something.net, and perhaps something.otherTLDs. It seems like the way the OpenSRS module works will not only prevent me from converting those existing domains but will prevent customers from registering or transferring multiple domains with the same first 8 characters. Am I missing something?

[NOT A BUG] OpenSRS shows white screen with no regular interface
tulaweb replied to Arf's topic in Troubleshooting Issues
So is there no way to get existing domains registered through OpenSRS linked to WHMCS? -
Can I reuse licence for fresh install on same server?
tulaweb replied to Nodehead's topic in Using WHMCS
As long as it's in the same location and on the same server, you can start over as many times as you want. If you want to move it you need to reissue the license but that's quite painless.
