  1. Hi RPS, Ok, I gave it some time, and tried again. Now it's working like a charm. It turned out I was editing wrong .htaccess file. (still learning) Thank you for your help! I would note though, that it works just as it should, without any issues, but I did not followed all the steps you listed in your initial post. I did not leave blank 'WHMCS SSL system URL'. I don't know what this step actually accomplishes, but let me know if it is important. Other than that it works great! Sincerely, Serg
  2. Hello, Maybe I am missing something, but I followed the steps in first post, and tried different ways to edit .htaccess, but I cannot make it work, and no matter what I do my site has no changes whatsoever, it just doesn't changes anything, as if I did not edit .htaccess at all. Sincerely, Serg
  3. RPS, Ok, I see what you mean. No, it's not redirecting from http to https if URL path with http request is typed manually into browser, but all my WHMCS links are based on and directed through secure https request (on click). Nevertheless, now I see the reason to edit .htaccess file. Thank you RPS! Sincerely, Serg
  4. RPS, Literally every single page is accessed through secure https connection, both admin and client areas. But it wasn't so when I had V3 and when I installed SSL on subdomain, and used root domain for WHMCS license. Now my site URL is subdomain with SSL installation, and that secure subdomain is redirected to my WHMCS system folder, making it my system folder URL, and it is my WHMCS SSL system URL. And that's what I meant in my initial reply to this thread. Example: I used 'https://secure.mydomain.com' in every field of General Settings, making it my main domain name, WHMCS system URL, and ofcourse WHMCS SSL system URL. In my cPanel I simply redirected my root domain 'mydomain.com' to 'secure.mydomain.com'. That's it. Sincerely, Serg
  5. RPS, I haven't tested Downloads yet, and would love to test and see for myself before I proceed with this fix. Because, as with example here, when most of the people in this thread had issues accessing some areas of WHMCS through secure connection, I tested my WHMCS installation (both admin and client areas) and didn't have any area of my WHMCS that was accessed without secure https. I am in the middle of something right now, so can't allocate time to test Downloads at this moment, but I am very interested about details of issues that Downloads causing over secure connection. Thank you for your quick response! I'll be back to this thread soon. Sincerely, Serg
  6. Hello RPS, So considering that I have no issues to access entire WHMCS folder through secure connection (as I noted in my previous post) without 'Rewrite the URL for WHMCS to always use https,' I assume I only need 'Rewrite the URL for WHMCS dl area to always use http' to force Downloads to be accessed through unsecured http connection? Am I right? Sincerely, Serg
  7. Hello, I've been reading this thread, very interesting topic, but when I went through my website, checked both admin and client areas, to my surprise everything (I mean everything) was accessed through secure https:// by default, without editing .htaccess file. Probable reasons might be that: 1. In General settings I entered https:// URL of my website for all three fields - in 'the domain of my main website', in 'WHMCS system URL', and in 'WHMCS SSL system URL'. 2. WHMCS got aware about this topic being discussed and implemented https:// accessed throughout the system in V4 (WHMCS version that I am using at this moment.) But now after reading this thread, I read about the problems that arise when using 'Downloads' with secure connection. What exact problems/errors that 'Downloads' causing with secure connection? Should I now try to force 'Downloads' to be accessed through http://? Interesting. Sincerely, Serg
  8. Hi, Absolutely agree with chickendippers, it is much easier to remember user name when it's based on domain name. I remember every domain name I have and with who, and it is more than likely for me to forget my username if it was something other than based on my email or domain name. And if a person having way too many accounts, it even helpful to have username based on email or domain name, because I know what emails I use for registration and what domains are used with any given account. And besides that, I have a lot of accounts and secure inhouse system to store login information; I have no need to even bother with trying to remember any of my logins (and there's no way I would be able to), it is worthless and unreasonable. In general, I don't see any sense in this topic, and talk about it sounds very immature. There are so many companies, and most of them employ different systems, and most consumers aware about that, and don't even give a second thought to that if they are ready to order service/product that they believe would benefit and work for them. Who gives a !@#$ how my system works as long as it works. This is the system that I chose to use to sell my products, and if some immature customer would express his/her negative opinion about how my username system works, let them go and find another one, I don't want to have such a client who is concern about this "little" thing like how my system sets usernames, instead of focusing on the products and valuable services that I am offering. Sincerely, Serg
  9. merlinpa1969, Haha, that's so clever. I would definitely will implement it into our system. Does someone have any other interesting security measures? Hmm ... this forum thread can be very interesting Sincerely, Serg
  10. merlinpa1969, If I would use .htaccess to deny all and allow only IPs of admins/staff allowed in the admin, then why would even bother renaming admin folder if only allowed IPs would be allowed in the admin? I understand that it is an extra step toward insuring security, (and personally I wouldn't mind mind to take all possible steps) but I would appreciate any thoughts about my question above. Sincerely, Serg
  11. BAJI26, Nice to know, thank you. I won't jump ahead of myself, just wondered about it, but when time will come to customize, I am sure I will be on this forum section a lot. Sincerely, Serg
  12. D-Litz, Thank you very much for such informative reply! Now it does makes sense. Not that I am too lazy to read service agreements, it just I haven't gotten to that task yet, which would be one of the major tasks before I finish publishing 'informative' content and all agreements and terms of all services and resold products on my website. Very appreciate your reply Sincerely, Serg
  13. Hello, I haven't got to customization yet, but as I currently configure products/services, I realized that Shopping Cart Page getting so 'overcrowded' as WHMCS only allows to create a product groups without sub-groups and sub-categories. Is it actually possible to create custom 'first-point-entry' shopping cart page and replace a link "Order" in Client Area and wherever needed to point to custom page. The reason is that with a lot of products Shopping Cart is just unorganized. I mean there even no such thing as product sub-groups or sub-categories. And to create a separate groups for desired sub-groups, then there will be so many links to product groups that it would be just insanely confusing. (Daddy got lotsa product to sell! Ha ) Sincerely, Serg
  14. Hello, I have a question, as I had a thought to resell hyperspin services under my own brand, as hyperspin provides private label system, but what do you mean by link to hyperspin for clients to log in? I wouldn't want my clients to login to hyperspin if I resell their product under my own brand. (I am little confused, so the question is from the top of my head ) Sincerely, Serg
  15. Hello, I was thinking about choosing server/site monitoring solution and visited wikipedia to see if they have comparison articles, and sure enough I found them. Very helpful for those who want to know the options that are available, compare them, read about them, and finally decide which option suits better to particular needs that our businesses might have. A short comparison between the most common network monitoring systems: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_network_monitoring_systems A short comparison between the most common website monitoring tools: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_website_monitoring_tools Sincerely, Serg
  16. Hello EarthsHOST, Concerning: "Also, what about the enom api? For example: WHMCS allows you to use a enom reseller account for domain registration. So to be able to offer the abillity to clients to manage thier purchased domains you would have to do something like adding the enom reseller api to your page or use one of the ready made shops. So is WHMCS's domains (the ones purchased through the system) able to be managed at this portal page for the domains?" I am a new to WHMCS too, and haven't tested everything yet (which is very important, to test and try everything to see for yourself how it works) but also after reading a lot of documentation and full of information forum, I know that eNom API is integrated into WHMCS and that clients should be able to manage their domains (purchased through WHMCS/eNom) within WHMCS. (I actually posted similar question in this forum, when I started with WHMCS, until I realized I have to read more, everyday, to know WHMCS better.) Keep on reading and reading, and then test and test again and again Good luck! Sincerely, Serg
  17. Gustave, Do you have a development tracker page for eNom Extended (with reported issues and discussed resolutions)? It sounds like very neat module, but while it being tested and debugged this forum thread got very big, full of unrelated to testing and debugging of this module posts, and it makes me (not sure about others) confused at times, as sometimes I try to follow some issue and see if there's a resolution been discussed, I have to go through all the unrelated posts. Sincerely, Serg
  18. Hi, I was wondering if enomssl is the only non-hosting product (Products/Services>Module Settings) module 'initially' available in WHMCS? Sincerely, Serg
  19. Hello again , I know you guys already talked about automation settings, but I still have questions. I personally would love to automate the order process for certain types of certs, but want to leave other certs to manually accept the orders before it processed to enom. So, if I tick an option to "Automatically setup the product when you manually accept a pending order" means the order of cert will be processed to eNom only after I manually accept a pending order? The reason I ask, is because I want to be in control of my eNom account balance, to make sure I have enough of funds for certain amount of orders I am currently processing, and some certs are expensive. As a start up I don't think I would be able to deposit large amount into eNom account to cover big order volume. Yet I still would love to offer to my clients a big range of SSL products to choose from. I also considered an option to "Do not automatically setup this product" and process orders manually for now, but if option to "Automatically setup the product when you manually accept a pending order" would work well with my preferences to be in control of my eNom account balance, then it's great. Sincerely, Serg
  20. Hello sgrayban, I had the same issue with email template, but I found helpful post that contains suggested resolution by D-Litz. You might want to take a look at it, unless you already found it. http://forum.whmcs.com/showthread.php?t=20458&highlight=SSL+certificate Sincerely, Serg
  21. Hello, I had the same issue with email, when I tested enomssl, but haven't try the suggested by D-Litz email template adjustment. It makes sense, hopefully will work well. cmo, What exactly do you mean by "...generation of server request done, at Enom system. It seems the tel. contacts in the form are not working well"? What kind of generation of server request you do in eNom? tel. contacts in which form? Sincerely, Serg
  22. Othellotech, Yes, I understood that, and it seems this applies to all domain/tlds with minimum 2 years registration period. But still there is a question that hangs about setting transfer prices for those domain/tlds. Like .co.uk, according to isdoo, does not add any time to transfer domains, or other domain tlds that add a year, yet transfer prices are set to 2 years, and according to Matt, when I asked him, he said that transfer will not do a renewal aswell once the transfer completes. But customers who would order transfers would see a 2 years as the only option. So where is those 2 years come from, unless I add/renew years to completed transfers 'manually'? Sincerely, Serg
  23. Hello, The issue with disabled transfer options is fixed! Works great!. Thanks to Matt! I submitted a ticket and Matt suggested a change in 'configureproductdomain.tpl,' to find: <option value="{$period}">{$period} {$LANG.orderyears} @ {$regoption.$domainoption}</option> And replace with: {if $regoption.$domainoption}<option value="{$period}">{$period} {$LANG.orderyears} @ {$regoption.$domainoption}</option>{/if} Now shopping cart doesn't lists disabled transfer year/s options. Even though it didn't seem solved an issue at first, I think because of my text editor wasn't set to utf-8, but Matt been able to fix it. The suggested change have been applied to 'web20cart' in V4. Sincerely, Serg
  24. Hi chickendippers, There's a problem in keeping it short, because I would get a lot of unrelated (and perhaps unhelpful) to my issue replies and questions about more details. And at the end throughout discussion, I still would have to elaborate, and try to explain details. And for example, after posting long and detailed initial post, your first reply to me was "You need to enter -1.00 to disable transfer pricing for 2,3,4 years etc.," even though I explained in detail how I set domain pricing, and that I did disabled (set to -1.00) for more transfer years options, and that issue was with shopping cart, because it allows customer to choose those disable (set to -1.00) transfer years options and allows customer to proceed till the error comes "Invalid TLD/Registration Period Supplied for Domain Registration" consequently making shopping cart impotent to that customer, as it do not allows to access/view shopping cart by giving that same error to the customer, and the only way I can enable shopping cart to access/view it for that customer is by enabling that transfer year option that was selected by customer's mistake. And those options actually even shouldn't be there if they are disabled. This is a 'problem' with shopping cart, which makes it not-so-operational, and that's why I invested enough time to elaborate it and write long and detailed post, because I need to fix it. And as I mentioned I did check many hosts that use WHMCS, and not surprisingly many have the same thing. I don't know why not many brought it up, maybe because no body noticed it. Anyway, I submitted a ticket, and will wait and see if this issue can be fixed, otherwise I will have no other choice other than think how to work around this issue. If I find useful info on how to fix it or some reasonable resolution to this issue, I'll post it here. Inputs on this issue are very welcomed. Thank you for your help! Sincerely, Serg An update: I tried to test transfer on different order form templates (Boxes, Default, Cart, Singlepage, Web20cart.) So - 'Boxes', 'Default', and 'Web20cart' has the original issue as it was explained in my initial post in this thread. 'Cart' template still has the same issue but behaves in different way. With Cart template the shopping cart drop down menu lists prices for all years that have been set for Register/Renewal, and which were disabled (set to -1.00) for Transfers. But after choosing any year more than 1 year to transfer a domain, the shopping cart allows to proceed, till the good old (mentioned in my initial post) error comes. The only order form template that bypasses that error is 'Singlepage' which still shows disabled transfer years options, but do not do anything if customer chooses those disabled transfer years options. And there is nothing can be done at that point in Singlepage, since dropdown menu is frozen, so customer have to start over from the beginning to change a mistake in choosing disabled transfer years option that even shouldn't have been there in shopping cart to start with. Sincerely, Serg
  25. Hi revolutionstudios, That's a very important decision to make. Think carefully, and do research web host server providers. In my personal experience, I actually saved myself from using bad providers by extensive research about them, reading tons of reviews (very important), and not running for the low-priced ones, but choosing well established and big companies, that might charge you more, but give you smooth stability and value of their uninterrupted and well-supported service. The provider that I am using now, concerning support, gives me immediate 24/7 live chat (helpful) response, not more than 1 hour 24/7 ticket response (response with resolution, not just discussion, if I have issue, it simply solved) and no problems with service at all. Large companies care about their reputation and customer satisfaction enough, because that's the only way they became big and well known. Choose the big ones and how some folks say it - "follow the winner :)" because winners are set to win! Sincerely, Serg
