sequencehost
Hello everyone, Just a quick question. We are using PayPal as our gateway. Does the customer’s PayPal account/credit card pay the invoice automatically each month? If so when? Will it be automatically paid on the due date? Or does the customer have to login to their client account each month and pay the invoice manually? Lastly is there a reason why WHMCS create the invoice in advance? I know I can change this but I’m wondering if there is a good reason. Thank you in advance for you're reply. Sorry for the stupid questions.

sequencehost
^ This ^ It's always nice to give your customers notice before you're going to charge them It certainly is So all of my customer’s invoices have been paid but one of my customers tried to manually pay the invoice before the due date and it didn't work. Am I right to believe the customer doesn't need to pay the invoice manually because their PayPal account automatically pays the invoice each month? Now I could ask my other customers if they had to login to pay but that would be very unprofessional: -P Thanks guys
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted December 4, 2009 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted December 4, 2009 The client can't pay before an invoice has been generated...unless you want to use the Add Funds feature to add credit to their account. This would then automatically be used against the invoice.

The customer tried to pay the invoice after they received the invoice reminder email (the one that says the invoice has been created) before the due date but he said it didn’t work. This is the only customer who has had a problem with payment. I would very much like to know how this works. I always thought the customers PayPal account automatically pays the invoice on the due day.
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted December 7, 2009 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted December 7, 2009 In what way doesn't it work? They login to their client area, view the invoice and click the PayPal button. Money will only be sent automatically if the client goes to pay the invoice before the due date and clicks the PayPal Subscribe button.
Methinks
Not sure if it is the same issue or not however I have had the problem in the past of people paying when they recieved an invoce and then the subscription taking it out a few days later. Now the customer said they did nothing that it was all done automatic. Seems when the invoice came in paypal took it as it was a subscription payment and then when the subscription was due in paypal it took it a second time. I spent quite some time reimbursing my customers for double payments until I deleted all subscriptions. We also had this issue with my whmcs account when I first signed up. It took a few months over a short period. Matt was quick to take care of me but the paypal thing can be a little confusing as to how it works. WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted December 8, 2009 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted December 8, 2009 This usually means a client forgot they had a subscription already, so either created a second one or made a one-off payment.
