mysticav
When the user selects Credit Card Payment and click Next, WHMCS creates the account and send E-mail confirmation to user, even before the user enter his payment data. How can I configure WHMCS to proccess acocunt creation, confirmation E-mails, etc. Only after the payment gateway receives the money (Like many web hosting companies shopping carts work ) ? Thanks,
scurrell
Change the settings in Module Settings for the product. You've probably got it set on "Automatically create the account as soon as an order is placed"
mysticav
Ok. I changed to : "Automatically setup the product as soon as the first payment is received" Still, the invoice is sent to the user, even before payment. What I need is to send all E-mails, confirmation, etc. ONLY after his payment is accepted (creedit card). For me is weird that the system sends Emails before receiving payment. I haven't seen that in other hosting shopping carts. I'm not blaming WHMCS, actually this is the best hosting software I've ever used. I just can't figure it out how to configure it the way I need. Also, when the order ya paid, the Status is set as "pending" What that really means ? I mean, the payment has been received. Do I have to manually set "Active" for all orders ? Please explain me the purpose. Thanks.
scurrell
Still, the invoice is sent to the user, even before payment. How is the customer going to pay if they don't get an invoice?
mysticav
Ok. Now it makes sense. And what about the "Status" Pending" Even if the order has been paid (via credit card). ? Is there a way to automatize all the proccess ?

Is there a way to automatize all the proccess ? All orders remain in a pending status even if they've been paid and created, so they can be subsequently reviewed before accepting them.
vincent1
So are we saying there is no option to automatically create accounts and register domains by using say PayPal IPN feature? Thanks, - Vincent
scurrell
So are we saying there is no option to automatically create accounts and register domains by using say PayPal IPN feature? Thanks, - Vincent No, we're not saying that at all. Accounts can still be created automatically, but the order itself will always remain "Pending", even though the account has been created. That's what the "Automatically create the account as soon as the first payment is received" setting does.
vincent1
OK, I can understand why you'd leave it as 'Pending' even though the client has a confirmed payment is in case they are using a 'stolen' PayPal account? Anyway to change this feature if we wanted to? Many thanks, - Vincent
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted November 24, 2009 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted November 24, 2009 Orders always have to be manually approved, even if the product is automatically provisioned on the server/domain registered. There isn't an option to automate this. The point of accepting the orders is so that you can keep track of all the new orders you receive.
vincent1
So WHMCS doesn't give us any choice for this, even if we wanted to change it via the source code? Thanks, - Vincent
rsanders
When the user selects Credit Card Payment and click Next, WHMCS creates the account and send E-mail confirmation to user, even before the user enter his payment data. How can I configure WHMCS to proccess acocunt creation, confirmation E-mails, etc. Only after the payment gateway receives the money (Like many web hosting companies shopping carts work ) ? I'm having a similar problem, but it is because all of my order show $0 due. So, the system sets them up because they don't owe anything. Do you have prorate enabled? As soon as I disable prorated billing, the problem goes away (customers are charged again) Please take a look, does yours also say Subtotal: $0.00 USD Total Due Today: $0.00 USD Total Recurring: $8.95 USD Monthly Then, when it takes the details on the next page, it never makes it to charging their CC because it pro-rated it to $0. I think you may be having the same issues as I do. rsanders
Hello, I've also confirmed this 'Pro Rata' problem on other host installs. I will with hold the companies URL so they are not attacked with free sign ups. Description Price Web Hosting - Unlimited Domain Hosting (xcvxcv.vxcv) $0.00 USD (Pro Rata 01/01/2010) [Edit Configuration] [Remove] Subtotal: $0.00 USD Total Due Today: $0.00 USD Total Recurring: $14.95 USD Monthly

rsanders
Give it a shot. Pick any basic host/email plan, Select Credit Card billing, and change your nameservers. If you order a domain, it doesn't pro-rate it so it doesn't error. http://www.managedway.com You'll get access most ricky-tick. Feel free to log in and verify.
rsanders
Oh yeah, and use your real email, otherwise you won't get the payment receipt and control panel welcome email
rsanders
How to reproduce this in your WHMCS Prorata Billing Tick this box to enable Prorata Date 1 Enter the day of the month you want to charge on Charge Next Month 14 Enter the day of the month after which point the following month will also be charged for with the first payment So, we enable prorata We set our Prorata Date to 1, so we bill on the first We set our Next Month to 14, so if someone orders after the 14th it charges them the prorata for the month and then the full amount for the following month. This is where it is broken. If you sign up after the Next Month day (i.e. 14th) then it calculates the total due as $0 and makes the next payment 01/01/2010 Now, if you set 'Next Month' to 0, so that it only prorata the month and does not include the next month it will charge and work. The problem is in the prorata calculations when charging a prorata and following month. This is confirmed with two independent installs.
rsanders
Hello, This is repaired in 4.1.2. Please make sure this is applied. WHMCS guys, can we get better changelog and patch updates on the site? I've looked for an update twice and your site still points to http://forum.whmcs.com/showthread.php?t=23908 Only after digging through the client files did I find 4.1.2
WHMCS CEO Matt Posted November 28, 2009 WHMCS CEO Share Posted November 28, 2009 WHMCS guys, can we get better changelog and patch updates on the site? I've looked for an update twice Hi Rob, We do try. It's listed in the homepages' announcements and would be showing a red notice "AN UPDATE IS AVAILABLE" inside your WHMCS install itself on the admin homepage if you're not running the latest. 4.1.2 was released back at the start of November to address the charge next month crossing the end of the year. As always a full changelog is in the announcements section of the forum that you can refer to. Matt
vincent1
Orders always have to be manually approved, even if the product is automatically provisioned on the server/domain registered. There isn't an option to automate this. The point of accepting the orders is so that you can keep track of all the new orders you receive. For me to completely understand, can you confirm if this is also the case for renewals? Some customers leave it until their account has been suspended, and then expect unsuspension to happen 'immediately' once they have paid. Does suspension follow same logic, needs manual intervention, or does that happen automatically? Last point (promise ), do we get email notifications for all the above actions - new order details, renewals, suspensions etc? Sorry to bang on about this automation stuff, but I am used to having these features with WhoisCart, which is sadly abandoned completely now :-( Been sitting on the fence to convert over to WHCMS for a few months now, but hopefully decide this month. Many thanks, - Vince
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted January 5, 2010 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted January 5, 2010 Some customers leave it until their account has been suspended, and then expect unsuspension to happen 'immediately' once they have paid. No it's not the same for product renewals, they will be unsuspended immediately upon payment. Does suspension follow same logic, needs manual intervention, or does that happen automatically? If enabled in Setup > Automation Settings, it's automated. Last point (promise ), do we get email notifications for all the above actions - new order details, renewals, suspensions etc? Yes
