setting up existing clients in whmcs

stui

Question

hi, there, thanks for looking.

I am trialling whmcs and like it a lot.

what i'd like to know is how can i set up my existing hosting and domain customers in the system?

I use directadmin as well as plesk for windows.

So i set the client up, and apply the hosting package to the client, set the next invoice due date and save. No problems.

Now i want to associate the domain name currently in use by the client to the clients new account in whmcs, but when i add the domains, the list doesn't populate with the domain details.

So i placed an order for the domain, but it still doesn't associate the domain to the client.

any suggestions?

Hi, I'm answerig this thread because I can't be able to create a new one in the "Tips, tricks and HOWTOs" forum. Is not the same case, but it is similar.

I have read some threads about importing accounts. This is my case and I think that is so far different:

Scneario:

A new server with cPanel. All the accounts were migrated from a Plesk server. They are without packages and many domains are from a reseller. By the way, I'm new in WHMCS and cPanel/WHM.

I have a WHMCS installation that has just 3 clients with domains. I have created orders to add their domains (only the domains registrations not the hosting accounts), my hosting clients are not in WHMCS by now.

One of this 3 clients in WHCMS is a reseller and it has domains created on WHCMS. So, is an existing client in WHCMS and has only domains. I want to add to this client his reseller product.

Please tell me your recomendations, what would be the best choice ?

1. Create packages in WHM and then put a domain as a reseller and then import the reseller account in WHMCS ? If this, how can I say that the migrated reseller is a product of my existing client ?

2. Create pakages in WHMCS and place an order to the client ? Then activate the account and let WHMCS to the all the job ?

Please note that all the domains and hosting accounts are in WHM but not related in WHMCS. I want a reseller with maximun 3 GB of disk space.

Thanks for your reading and cooperation.

Regards

Another thing, I want recommendations about my system with WHM. Which is better ? To Have packages and make an account owened by root, and all the resellers with their accounts, or to have a reseller account for me, and all my clients owened by my reseller account and leave the root account just for management things.

If I have a reseller account for me, can I import and work well with WHMCS ? Do I have to update my credentials on the server configuration and put my reseller user and password ?

Thanks
