Few questions on WHMCS

tomcatf14

Question

Hi,

I am using a trial version now and will be upgrading to the paid one very soon once I've completed the evaluation. I have few questions as below:-

1. How do I remove "USD" as the currency as I am only dealing with hosting on my country, "Malaysia" now? I do not see the "x" remove button for USD on my Currencies page. Hence, my user will be prompted with the combo box to choose either USD or MYR each time they need to make an order.

2. How do I reissue my trial license? I need to rename my admin folder and I need to reissue the license according to the documentation, is that right? Right now, I'm getting an empty page after renaming the admin page.

3. I am using Cpanel as my hosting server and I have the option to set the package specs on Cpanel itself and also on WHMCS. How does the sync work between the WHMCS and Cpanel? Do I only create the package type of Cpanel or WHMCS only? Or I need to create on both side?

4. I have offered free domain for my hosting package but my client is still seeing the domain pricing on the hosting account ordering page whenever they need to select a domain instead of seeing "domain.com (MYR 0.00)".

5. How do I reinstall WHMCS on top of an existing WHMCS database?

6. If I decide to move my WHMCS to another folder/subdomain, how can I do that?

7. I have different pricing for each of the domain extensions and client would need to top up if they get the domain that is more expensive than the free domain. How do I enable the client to topup directly from the hosting/domain ordering page.

Hi,

1. You need to edit the default currency USD and change that to what you want to be the default, in your case MYR and then delete the secondary currency you've created.

2. You cannot reissue a trial key. But you don't need to for an admin directory change & an invalid license doesn't give a blank page so you've done something wrong with your customisations rather than a license error.

3. You should create packages in WHM defining the limits and features, and then you just enter the WHM package name into the WHMCS product config.

4. It's not free until they've specified the billing cycle of their package.

5. You don't do that - you would need to start with an empty the database if you want to do a new install

6. Once you've bought a license, you can do that, and just reissue the key if you want to move it after your first use.

7. Clients don't have to pre-fund their accounts, they can just pay for what they've ordered on checkout.

Does this apply to recovering from a crash on WHMCS? I need to be able to reinstall WHMCS on the backup DB after a crash
