markb1439
Hi, Is there any way that WHMCS can be more like some other full-featured e-commerce systems. What I mean is basically two things: Instead of just taking over at the ordering stage, many e-commerce systems actually populate your site's product sections and have a shopping cart that's visible throughout the user's visit. VirtueMart (for Joomla!) does a very good job of this. (That's just one example...I know that many more systems are comparable.) VirtueMart makes it easy to display products with links to previous and next products, similar products, display of recently-viewed products, etc., etc. If I could have the beauty of VirtueMart on the front end, along with the extra features of WHMCS (domain registration, monthly subscriptions, etc.)...that would be great. At a minimum, it would be great to have a more traditional shopping cart that always shows someone's WHMCS purchases. Any ideas? Thanks, Mark

markb1439
Hi, No, I was referring to a traditional shopping cart that is always visible (sidebar, upper right corner, etc.), and shows how many items the user has purchased on that visit, etc. To me, that puts people in more of a buying mood, when the e-commerce experience is integrated throughout the site, not just bolted onto the last steps. markb1439
Simon, The shopping cart on your site (near the top right) is one of the kinds of things I was referring to. Did you custom-code that? If so, do you mind if I ask how? I still wish I could have a whole e-commerce system with features like VirtueMart on the front end (where the e-commerce system populates the product pages), and WHMCS on the back end (domain registration, etc.). thehost5968
ref the shopping cart this is what i am use at this time but you cand change the code and only show the info that you need IE just the Qty and total. http://forum.whmcs.com/showthread.php?t=21276&highlight=sparky ref the last part I would live it to, all we can do is use calls to the database and pick the info we need. like I did for the scrolling plan's
snake
perhaps integration with the likes of virtumart would be better, WHMCS is pretty poor as a shopping cart and takes a lot of work to work around that not to mention duplicating all your product info in 2 places. At least if WHMCS allowed proper product descriptions and had the ability to create product pages that could be easily included into your site or Joomla.
