Damainman
I'm new to PayPal and to WHMCS, and i've read a bunch of posts, wiki, and paypal help but some questions were not 100% clear to me, so I apologize if the answers have been answered and i've overlooked them by accident but here goes. A. PayPal is the only payment gateway setup in WHMCS. B. At the moment I run an IT company and don't run a hosting business. So I do onsite support work, and remote computer work. We plan on implementing hosting sometime next year. C. I'm currently generating Invoices from inside my PayPal account and sending them to clients that way. D. Before PayPal and WHMCS was using Vtiger.com as our CRM, and although it was feature rich it lacked some features we liked from WHMCS. I have a PayPal Premiere account at the moment, in a few months I plan on creating a brand new business PayPal business account. Would this cause any issues with WHMCS when i do this? I already have 5 invoices in PayPal that are already paid by customers before i setup WHMCS. I would like WHMCS to have a record of all my invoices, so what would be the best way to put those invoices in WHMCS for record keeping? I currently have 2 pending unpaid invoices in PayPal from before i setup WHMCS. This question is like #2, what would be the best way to put this in WHMCS to keep track of the invoices and payments? I just setup PayPal as a gateway in WHMCS. How would i go about testing invoices, payments, and notifications with WHMCS? (I keep hearing people mention sandbox mode, but I can't find out how to use this) I want to make sure the invoicing works, and the PayPal integration works with no issues before I start using WHMCS to handle and send out the invoices instead of PayPal. So any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance
JofleyUK
In short, you wont run into any issues. We use PayPAL as our primary gateway. WHMCS creates the invoice, the customer logs into site, pays it and then the customer has a PAID invoice in WHMCS, they can download it in PDF if they like. As for testing, you wont need to. If you want to test outgoing emails, then create a 100% discount code in "Setup --> Promotions" Use this coupon code for your internal orders to test the outcome of an order. This bypasses the gateway and will allow you see the invoice and email trail for orders. Plain and Simple!! Damainman
Thank you very much for taking the time to reply . What about question #1? I read in another post that was kind of old, that changing the paypal information in the gateway, it changes the hash key or something and messes up the invoices already created before the change? Also what would u suggest i do for questions #2 and #3? Thank you in advance
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted September 17, 2009 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted September 17, 2009 1. It won't cause any issues. All payment will be directed to the new account from the moment you enter the new account details in WHMCS. 2. Create the customers in WHMCS and then manually raise the invoice (don't click the "Send Invoice Notification" button). Then use the Add Payment tab to pay it. 3. As above, just don't add the payment.
