crucial
We are using WorldPay Invisible on our installation, and we regularly have customers card details disappear. This is usually after payment failures. Does anyone know why this may happen, and how to prevent it?
bpanas
We have seen this problem for some time.. we are using authorise.net.. never bothered me cos the client needs to replace it with a valid card (one with credit available).. but it does only happen sometimes!
jdwalte3
I have noticed this issue as well. Periodically, client card numbers just seem to disappear out of the database. I keep a test account in the system under my name with my card details. My credit card expired this month (september) and I just logged in to change my card expire date and noticed there were no card details stored...which is not correct because I run sample renewals periodically against my card. Any idea's what is going on here? Jon
crucial
I got the following reply from Matt: "Hi, WHMCS will never remove the details randomly. There are 2 reasons for the cards being removed: 1. The card has expired, an expiry notice email has been sent to the user, and then the card is removed 2. The user has tried to pay manually via the client area and got a declined result when using the "New Card" option - at which point the newly submitted details which overwrote the old are discarded as they don't work Regards, Matt"
MonkeyMagic
Hi Guys, See this post from yesterday ... jdwalte3
Thanks MonkeyMagic. I thought I was losing my mind with card details disappearing. I would prefer card details never be removed unless we do it manually.
MonkeyMagic
Indeed - and the biggest problem is that the credit cards were deleted when they were NOT EXPIRED!! The CC's expiry date was 09/09 - meaning they expire on Sept 30 ... so two of our customer were pissed off because they have not received their new cards from their banks yet and still use their card as per normal.
dordal
Yeah, I also agree that card details shouldn't be deleted. If they're expired... so what? We've had cases where a customer has emailed in and said 'use my same card, the new expiration date is XX/YY'. We can't do that if WHMCS is deleting details from the system
MonkeyMagic
A small update to this; I have been speaking with Matt for a quick fix on this, and his reply is as follows: ---------------------------------- It turns out you can already turn this on/off. It's the setting "CC Expiry Notices Date" in Setup > Automation Settings. Set it to 35 and then cards won't be removed. Regards, Matt ---------------------------------- So essentially, we can stop the CC details from being removed by 'turning off' the CC Expiry Notices. This does however mean that clients will no longer receive email notification asking them to update their credit cards. For me, its far from perfect, but I'd rather keep CC details in the system than lose them until a dedicated option is added.
bugster
I recently upgraded to version 4 and just realized this is happening. Has anything been added to stop this from happening?
BuffaloWeb
Matt - any update? planned changes? lots of requests to not have these deleted from the system...
