JFSG
Due to limitations in Enom's API, SSL certificates cannot be renewed. Therefore your clients will need to place a new order when the certificate period ends and it's due for renewal. This is why we recommend setting up as a one time product in WHMCS. http://wiki.whmcs.com/Enom_SSL_Certificates When placing a new order, is it considered as renewal of certificate or a new purchase of another certificate?

JFSG
A new purchase. So the certificate must be re-installed after the re-purchase? I believe I'm not clear on my initial post. What I mean is: 1) Buy certificate (One time product right?) 2) Install certificate 3) Certificate is about to expire 4) Place new order 5) Re-installation required, or certificate is renewed? JFSG
New installation is required of the new ssl.Is this because of the eNom API's limitations?
TheIdeaMan
I read (I believe in the docs) that it is a limitation with Enom's API. The thing I'd like to see changed is the requirement that users do the CSR insertion, etc. That's way beyond most of my users. What I'd like to see is either (if possible) the CSR retrieved via the WHM/cPanel API or an admin interface for setting this up. The WHM/cPanel API stuff you'd need (I believe) is here: http://twiki.cpanel.net/twiki/bin/view/AllDocumentation/AutomationIntegration/GenerateSSL It would also be nice to have the name, address, etc, filled in from the client's billing info--to save time. Thanks for all you do. Edited August 13, 2009 by TheIdeaMan found the WHM/cPanel API info for CSR's
Jacksun
The no renew, must buy new cert is an enom thing, but for any certificate, even if you can renew it, you must install the new/renewed certificate on the server. This is because certs have valid dates embedded in them, thus when the dates change so does the underlying certificate.
