PGale
I've been working on this all afternoon and evening and cannot figure this out. I've searched the forums, the WHMCS documentation. I'm using php mail, and it no problems sending the invoices, emails, etc. for hosting accounts. I a created a custom email template in the category "Product Messages" I created an "Other Product/Service" (non-hosting). I select the Welcome Email that I want it to send for this product, which is the custom email template I created and it just will not send. At first, I thought maybe it was the verbage of my custom email, so I also tested one of the included emails in the Products Category for this same "Other Product/Service" and none of them will go automatically. For hosting products, yes, they send, for "Other Product/Service" that are non-hosting related, they do not send. Is there something I'm missing? Is this a bug? I can't always be manually sending the welcome email to the customer for non-hosting products.
Austdata
Do you have the forwarders set up? Something like this: sales2@adhc.com.au to | php -q /home/adhc/public_html/client/pipe/pipe.php Change "sales" to which ever account is responsible for your problem area. Also there's the cron job but I always forget the forwarders.
PGale
Thanks so much for the reply, though, I'm not trying to forward an email to create a ticket into the system. I'm trying to get the system to automatically send the Welcome email, (to the customer), that I selected for this specific product.
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted July 17, 2009 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted July 17, 2009 So the welcome email won't even send when you accept the order and the send welcome email checkbox is ticked?
PGale
That is correct. In doing more research on this, I also realized that I needed to make sure the module is set to "autorelease", which I now have done and been testing all morning. (I didn't realize this before when I first posted.) I've tested all 3 options (set up after order is placed, first payment received or when manually accepting a pending order) It sends the invoices & order confirmations right away, but will not send the Welcome email at all regardless of which option I select. I just installed and am using WHMCS 4.0.1 earlier this week, so it has the new autoresponse module already built in. I don't mind manually changing the order from pending to active, but for these "Other" products, the custom email template that I created for the Welcome email is the most important part as it gives the customer specific instructions on what their next step is. I don't want to have to send those manually, too. What is the next step in figuring out why this isn't working? Thanks for your help! PGale
I can't edit my previous message, so I wanted to add that I have also created hosting products using the cpanel module and it works flawlessly. It sends the Welcome email without a hitch.
