Change WHOIS Info via API

Recommended Posts

Is it possible to use some API function to change the WHOIS info of a domain from a custom Admin Module?

This would take place either after the domain is registered with some other WHOIS profile, or as the domain is being registered.

Or maybe, have some type of WHOIS profile that is saved and can be automatically applied to domains with a click of a button.

At the moment yes you'd need to directly contact your registrar's api.

Which registrar are you with? I know Enom and a few others let you batch change WHOIS.

You might also be interested in Settings > Domain Registrars > Other Settings.

This lets you set custom Default Billing/Admin/Tech Contact Details on registration.

May I ask why you're wanting to do this then a solution maybe more apparent?

I am interested in this feature as well.

Many of my accounts we're transferred from another system that used my details as the WHOIS data and i need to get this changed to my client's details in bulk.

A more minor request is to see a button that pulls the main profile info into the contact details screen for the domain.

I don't necessarily need bulk WHOIS changing. I would like to interact with the WHMCS API to change the WHOIS Information of a domain.

I issue the WHOIS information change via the API then WHMCS determines the registrar the domain is registered with and changes the WHOIS Information using the modules that come with it.
