WHMCS CEO Matt Posted June 24, 2009 WHMCS CEO Share Posted June 24, 2009 There's a thread on this already somewhere but to reiterate: Automatic license verifications are only performed periodicly and so to have the new version take immediate effect you will need to force an update. To do this, inside the admin area, go to Help > Change License Key, re-enter your same license key and submit. Matt
redrat
But does that include those of us who bought from resellers or must we apply to have our licenses re-issued? Otherwise I'll just not bother about it.
WHMCS CEO Matt Posted June 24, 2009 WHMCS CEO Share Posted June 24, 2009 Reissued? Nobody mentioned reissuing.
redrat
Exactly my point! Every time I even think about sneezing whilst logged into WHMCS admin my reseller has to re-issue my licence. Hence me checking this out before I hit your solution in case it only applies to those who have direct licences. As I trust you, I will be their experimental guinea pig and test your guidance but, if it fails, I want a free unbranded licence and full support for life from you. Deal?
redrat
LMAO! All I did was was click on Help>>Check for updates and now no more bright red whatsit! Please accept my humble gratitude and a free lifelong membership to the "Not in a million years club". Regards, Chris

Is it not possible to just have it check latest version when the page loads? Also side note: It would be a good idea if you could have the "An update is available!" message was actually a link to information about the latest version... which wouldn't hard to implement as it would simply mean having the licensing server pass a link url when it checks the version... Cheers
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted June 24, 2009 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted June 24, 2009 But that would slow down the loading by querying the WHMCS server everytime you visit the admin homepage.
