djpete
I want to have domains in the system that I do not charge for (or nag customer) because they are with other Registrars. I want to have them there so I know when they are expiring and so I can try to get the business too. How do I set this up. What is the best way? Thanks

Thanks That sort of thing would be quite difficult really, as you would need to know the expiry dates, and with .au domains in particular, it's not possible, so that might throw you out. You would be able to do it by creating an order via the admin area and not sending order confirmation or an invoice either, so it alteast add's it to the client account, but of course, the client would see it in their client area and may get confused. I think your best option would be to record the info as a private note and set a to-do reminder when it comes due.

djpete
the private note sounds like the option. I do know all the dates as i look after their control panels from the other registrars. Thanks guys
djpete
I just noticed that this may work. Input data as usual but just dont add anything to the next due date. In other words leave it at 00 00 0000 That would hopefully mean that the domain would be in the system but no nag emails or invoices would be sent. Has anyone tried this or can confirm that this will prob work?

djpete
Even better I am testing this at the moment; Add a test domain and fill out just this: Registration Date .date here.. Expiry Date ..date here. Next Due Date ...leave empty The theory is that because there is no due date the system will NOT bill or nag. End result hopefully will be domains that I want to get the business for will go here and I can still see when they will expire and remind the customer to give us a try. Hopefully this will work.
othellotech
why not just add a "domains monitored" table - having them show in the client-are for clients will be *very* confusing if you're not the registration agent ...
djpete
Unfort my method above still bills client so scratch that off. How would I add a domains monitored table othellotech?
djpete
Solved! I used the todo list. Always in front of me on the index page. Perfect. Added all the domains that I (don't yet have) want to monitor there and did not put an end date so they stay there until I delete them. It reads like this: Date is the date of domain expiry Title is the domain name (in brackets the Registrar name) Description is the word "Expires" Due Date left this blank Job done!
