SeanShepardWI
Through fiddling, those errors are now gone. I'm left with: Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/ethos/public_html/whmcs/configuration.php:1) in /home/ethos/public_html/whmcs/dbconnect.php on lin Fatal error: Smarty error: the $compile_dir 'templates/ethos/' does not exist, or is not a directory. in /home/ethos/public_html/whmcs/libs/Smarty.class.php on line 1095 templates/ethos does exist, btw

redrat
Check what happens when you switch to the Default and Portal templates. If there are no errors, try overwriting your ethos theme with replacement files. As you have been hacked, also run a virus scan in cPanel as a precautionary measure. And, the obvious one, address how you got hacked in the first place! Weak password? That's most likely. Use a minimum of 24 digit random for everything. Open and examine /dbconnect.php and /configgeneral.php Check what is in your database relative to these errors and correct any anomalies. SeanShepardWI
dbconnect.php and configgeneral.php look encrypted to me Changing templates doesn't stop the error.
redrat
Of course, I realised after I posted they would be. And, from what you say, your templates appear to be OK, too. Clear your browser cache, delete WHMCS cookies and also try a different browser.
striddy
After doing the standard re-install, have you edited any files?
SeanShepardWI
After doing the standard re-install, have you edited any files? Yes, to fix these errors. I didn't go around fooling with too much, though. Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/ethos/public_html/whmcs/configuration.php:1) in /home/ethos/public_html/whmcs/dbconnect.php on line 0 Cache cleared, and 2 browsers
striddy
If you have done a standard re-install you shouldn't have any errors. Try uploading all the standard files again.
redrat
And be sure to upload them strictly in binary mode or they will most likely be corrupted.
SeanShepardWI
Just reloaded everything, same problem. edit: in binary
redrat
Hi Sean. I'm stumped on this now and we've tried all the usual suspects to no avail. At this stage I'd open a support ticket here. Best wishes and I'll keep an eye on this thread to find out what the fix is.
SeanShepardWI
Thanks, I opened a ticket. This is really killer as I just started a really successful advertising campaign and I'm totally down as far as any sort of signups.
redrat
Ain't that always the case! Murphy's Law. Which ever direction you approach the telephone box from the door's always on the other side. Well, hopefully, support will help you overcome this quickly and in time to get some benefit from your campaign. Best wishes.
bear
Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent Check the file its complaining about for any extra space after the end of the last line. I've seen that error caused by that. What are you using to edit these?
redrat
Check the file its complaining about for any extra space after the end of the last line. I've seen that error caused by that. What are you using to edit these? You probably know about this anyway but Notepad++ is awesome and almost makes the tea for you as well. Otherwise, just Notepad is best.
bear
Were you providing me that information (you quoted me)? I have a number of editors here, including that one (and UEstudio, NoteTab, Editplus and more). BTW, regular MS Notepad is not "the best". I have had occasions where it introduced line break errors, corrupted files and it can't handle large files at all. Your experience may vary, but I don't trust it at all any longer.
