Digital Downloads and Merchants

Hi,

I'm evaluating the trial version to see if it's a fit for what I need. I'm at the end of a very long and very expensive search for the correct software product. I will need to use WHMCS for hosting, billing, and support, BUT I also need it to support automatic digital downloads and merchants. For instance, I have a photo available for purchase. A subscriber purchases the photo and receives an email (or a download link is made available to them) after purchase of that photo. I think that is supported with WHMCS right? I just need to make sure.

 

I also have 22 photographers that offer their own photos for sale on my site. Is there a way for them to upload/edit/manage their own accounts and products? Meaning, can they upload their own photo for sale and receive proper payment when it is purchased? I'm not clear on whether that is supported or not. Any help is appreciated!

Hello? Can anyone help? I've just submitted a support request as well, but I was hoping that someone here could help too, especially regarding the multi-vendor/merchant info. Anyone got any ideas? Is it possible to have this feature as an addon maybe?

Yes, it's possible to offer downloads only once an associated product has been purchased using WHMCS. See http://wiki.whmcs.com/Products_and_Services#Download_Distribution for more info on it.

 

However, there isn't a way to allow users to upload photos to sell on your site by default. For that you would need to do a custom development - a custom client area page to be more specific.

Thanks for the info there. Has there been any change since 15th March 2009 in terms of allowing users to upload their own files (subject to moderating)?.. Has anyone created an add-on in relation to this?

 

Very interesting feature indeed as it proves that this product is not only used for web hosting.
