LaptopFreak, I think you will find Jack's way will work fine. When the client wants to use it again then you change the usage from maximum of 1 to 2 and it is then controled.

You can also check your coupon usage in the reports area by going to:

Reports > Promotions Usage.

Hope this helps you out.

That idea will not work for me. It will be more than just troublesome to do it this way, cause, VPS/Dedicated Server resellers will usually make a purchase as and when they like, or should I say, when they have a client signing up, so if I'm doing it this way, I may as well process all orders manually....

I like Othello's system, but with a tweak.

Give your client a highly unique code to use, (i.e. discount-x7ue9pl2) and make sure they understand it is for their use only. If you can't trust them to not share it with others, then you should consider putting them on a tighter leash, such as making them come to you for code activation.

Just set the promotion in the normal way and then only have this available to your VPS/dedicated server product areas.

No, no, no & no! As I had mentioned int he previous posts. I don't want to repeat the same answer to everybody telling the same solution...

@othellotech: However, this does not mean that others cannot use the coupon code isn't it.

Yes, just validate it when they enter it - if you set the formula to encode their userid into the coupon code, then you can add to the tpl the formula to check it :P

We provide clients with coupons only they can use, which show up in their client area when they login - and about to rollout a version of the orderform which gives them a list of *their* coupons - WHMCS is very very extensible

Another way, if you don't mind giving the same discount rate for all products:

You could create a client group and set it's discount rate. You can then just have that one client in the group (and add more clients to the group as and when you want them to have the same terms).
