jethbrown
I have the script functioning for the most part. I just want to know if I set up different departments like abuse, support, sales, etc. do I have to setup a separate email address for each of these in my cpanel, or can I simply go to the forwarding area of cpanel and forward them with the piping information? If I just forward 'abuse' to the whmcs script, will it work without me creating first the email address abuse@mydomain.com within add/remove mail accounts? Or do they actually have to be email addresses? Thanks
WHMCS CEO Matt Posted October 3, 2006 WHMCS CEO Share Posted October 3, 2006 No, you don't need to create the accounts - in fact, you should not create the accounts. Just setup the forwarder for the email address.
jethbrown
so with my support@mydomain.com that I have been using all along prior to buying this script, I should delete that from add/remove accounts and just go with the forwarder for support?

WHMCS CEO Matt Posted October 3, 2006 WHMCS CEO Share Posted October 3, 2006 Hi, Yes, that is correct. Delete the email account and just create a forwarder for it. Matt

bear
If you forward the mail to the support address, it's delivered to the script, and is no longer in the mailbox (that's called called "piping"). That means no mail to retrieve via Outlook. You probably want to use a different email address for support tickets if you want to be able to retrieve mail using Outlook.
