chrismfz
If you are an "Official" Registrar from EETT then you have the API you need and "authorization" to the .gr whois server. If not, you can ask another .gr Registrar to let you "use" their whois. I am loving our .gr whois policy (....)
Giannis
If you are Accredited registrar you can post your search from whmcs to the provided url for registrars.

Giannis
What firewall you use? You can contact your system administrator to open this port on your server.

johannes
may you could ask the guys from http://www.gena01.com/win32whois/ how the did it, its an windows exe, querying gr-whois, (whois.ripe.net), however if i try directly at whois.ripe.net - nothing, but in the exe its working fine.
