anton1980
Hi! Some negative feedback here... 1. There are no refund capabilities 2. There is no API queue like MB has. Any account actions (susped, delete, create, etc) either have to be done by an admin immediately or by a daily cron. 3. No obvious way of creating a sponsored (free) account. If you create one with price = 0, it gets suspended all the time. 4. Quick search does not search CC numbers (maybe that's not a big deal) 5. the migration service you guys provide is TERRIBLE! you left out addons completely. So... Good job on going from 0 to where you are now, but there is a long way to go before you have perfection. I do not regret leaving MB.
chickendippers
1. Refunds exist for the authorize.net gateway, further support will be added over time. 2. Susped and delete were done on a daily cron in MB IIRC...how does it differ from WHMCS? Create and unsuspend can be done immedately and automatically depending on your settings. 3. Create a 100% promotional code and use http://wiki.whmcs.com/Promotions#Promotion_Links 5. The Modernbill import script doesn't say anything about importing addons. TBH MB was so hit and miss it'd be impossible to import them anyway.
WHMCS CEO Matt Posted May 6, 2008 WHMCS CEO Share Posted May 6, 2008 Just to add to what John said: 2. Immediate should be better than an API Queue - you instantly know whether the action succeeded or failed 3. There is a billing cycle setting "Free Account" for use on free accounts 4. Quick Search > Clients > CC Number might be what you're looking for here Matt
rodeoXtreme
We have a number of Free accounts that we have had set up for a year; the have never been suspended. Go To Products/Services for the specific Client and you can verify the Free Account. These accounts were setup as if they were paid; it is a hidden product.

I had a problem with this once, when I set it to 0.00 , & forgot to make it Free Account, & all those accounts got suspended. Thank you Ishan
Gav
1. There are no refund capabilities Do most payment processors support this kind of thing? I'm pretty sure that with PayPal you have to log in via their website to send money or refunds. 2. There is no API queue like MB has. Any account actions (susped, delete, create, etc) either have to be done by an admin immediately or by a daily cron. If you need to suspend, delete or create an account, surely it's better for it to be instant 3. No obvious way of creating a sponsored (free) account. If you create one with price = 0, it gets suspended all the time. Use the "free account" option. I've never known a free account to get suspended. 4. Quick search does not search CC numbers (maybe that's not a big deal) There are a few things that I'm sure are being worked on to make the search better - maybe that will be added at some point
vT16
Hey Gav, I think what he ment with the refund capabilities is that you can somehow check the order as "Cancelled & Refunded" for history that you might need later on! But, i am pretty sure that paypal has some kind of API to make refunds trough WHMCS, but i wouldn't have used such a future at all incase something get's hacked on your server! Thanks, Freddy
Gav
I see what you mean, I just tend to delete the payment and cancel the invoice but I suppose it would be good to have a refund feature that does it all in one click.
Nexxterra
from a purely accounting point of view, this getting suspended makes sense. try crediting the users account a penny or so and this should clear the problem... You do know however that $0.00 is FREE?
anton1980
2. surely it's not better for suspend/terminate to be instant. because it takes 20-30 seconds for a create to be performed, therefore it's not instant anyway. if there was a queue like in MB - that would make the action instant in the sense that it would save my sitting in front of the screen and going "la-la-la-la", waiting. i see that other things have been fixed/implemented. good stuff!

Even the API queue in MB isnt instant, with cpanel it takes 15-20 seconds to create an account if done via WHM, that is basically what WHMCS and other systems are doing via the Remote Access Key. It doesnt matter which system you use, none of them will create an account "instantly".
